Just because someone is old doesn't mean they are entitled to anything. The only reason would be if the seat was designated for elderly people. They could ask nicely and the chance anyone will offer you their seat increases but demanding will not get you far. Sometimes you just gotta stand your ground and disrespect the ones who feel entitled to it.

@yerri5567 I don't know if he was. I'm just putting out a general opinion on the overall "rule" that elderly folk have a right to your seat. If he was polite in the beginning and she was rude to him, then that could change the perspective. Still, his actions were not okay here. Even if asked politely, she has no obligation to offer him her seat. Is it the kind thing to do? Yes. Is it a necessity? No. Still doesn't excuse getting in her face, cursing at her and using his cane in any form.

I am 60 years old. I disagree with the elderly's actions. If I am not given a seat, so be it. Unless I am sick and weak. But this elderly had so much energy in him. He even attempted to physically push away the woman passenger from her seat.

yup, pretty much you got two empty seats right there, which I am aware they were most likely occupied before he started to make a scene but instead of taking one of them and not escalate, he chose to "save face".
