I had thought decades ago that my daughter would be the one who stepped up in my “old age”. Boy was I wrong, after she milked every penny she could from me , she dumped me like a hot potato. It is my son that seeing I was aging and alone, made the decision to change his whole world & move back to New England from Az so I would have help caring for the home & anything else I would need. My heart broke at his words “I’ve made a decision Mom, I’m moving back so you won’t be alone anymore “. My heart broke because I didn’t want him to change his world, leave his friends & life he’d built , for me. I feel guilty that he chose me but I’m also do very grateful. I’m 73 yrs old, I’m physically fit for my age & healthy but I can’t clean gutters, shovel snow, carry in wood in winter like I did before. I am truly blessed to have my son.

Just WOW!!!! TEARS fill my heart and eyes while I listened to the surprise that young man and his wife had for this once broken down gentle loving soul who never stopped loving but felt as if he was a burden.
