It's funny how BTS's song seem like they're all about liking a girl when it's so much more. That's when you know how great their lyrics are
@raiza3363
@raiza3363 6 жыл бұрын
i think Spring day is the main example. You can listen and say "they are missing their girlfriend" when they never say something about "she" in this song lol when you try to understand the lyrics without this thinking of "boybands only do romantic songs" you can totally get the real meaning of it.

Anpanman (2018) is inspired by the fictional Japanese hero, Anpanman. Anpanman is BTS in their song. The hero looks like a normal person, someone far below average. He does not have any muscles or superpowers. All he has is a big heart. BTS is this generation's Anpanman.

I think Bts really aren’t your typical boyband formula, they go way way deeper, they produce their own music, they bring together so many genres and create their own and their music videos are so interwoven with each other and so artistically shot that you really cant compare them to the boybands that have been here before. I’m not saying that other bands are rubbish or anything or bash them but Bts is definitely bringing their own style to the music industry and they even overcame the language barrier! (Okay my heart is going to burst so I’m going to stop now...)♥️

To be honest, I wish you guys would have introduced more of their Love Yourself work. Their lyrics aren't just about the superficial love between a person and another person. They build up to this message of loving yourself, and how loving yourself is the truest love that must be reached first. Also introducing their work w/ UNICEF would have been nice too.

Honestly, i find it sad that most non kpop fans only see BTS's lyrics as another "love song" (based on what most say) and not as poetry that aims to bring awareness to social issues. Because thats what kpop does. They write meaningful songs that arent just catchy but also has a lot of depth to it. #justsayin

If only the adults knew the back story of Anpanman. Anpanman is a Japanese comic book (picture book/manga) hero created in the early 70s. His body is a bread bun. And he breaks off pieces of HIMSELF to feed starving children. He's basically a selfless hero And BTS are expressing their desire to become that kind of a hero for music lovers. Through their music they want to spread positivity and love. They also want to give strength to people through their music.

GUYS TAKE NOTE: "The lyrics were not originally all in English, but we've tried our best to find accurate translations". - "Sounds good!" Music doesn't have to be in your native language for you to try it! This woman understood that in first place and didn't question it. For you who still doubt, follow her example.

Just to note for anyone not familiar with Anpanman: BTS' Anpanman is a reference to a very old children's comic turned animation made in Japan and extremely popular in Korea. Anpanman is the name of the hero made out of bread as the word pan means bread in Japanese as well as Korean and anpan itself meaning red bean bread. Thus why his name can not be translated.

Also I wish you talked about what Anpaman is and how it's based off a superhero made of Anpan (bread) who breaks off pieces of himself to feed the hungry even if it hurts him. It's a metaphor for BTS having to give up parts of themselves to be famous and musicians.

Their lyrics aren’t only about love, they write about many different things from depression, mental health, woman empowerment, self love and many more. They really inspire me and many ARMY’s with their amazing lyrics. The new series of albums they released taught us that it’s important to love ourselves in order for us to love others. Although I still don’t fully love myself, with their help I started to accept myself for who I am. We’re also not only young girls, there’s many older woman and men that love BTS so much. My mom is 42 and loves them. Hope there can be another BTS reaction 💜

Right? I want to see more reactions like this: People being given BTS's lyrics to analyze BEFORE being told who they were written by, to get a completely unbiased opinion based purely on the lyrics without any assumptions or misconceptions whatsoever. ♡ I feel like when people hear the words "boy band" or "Kpop" they automatically generalize BTS as "just another group of pretty boys* who make generic, cheesy pop music** for squealing teenage girls***" (which ok, yes they are pretty boys, and yes a big chunk of our fandom is squealing teenage fangirls, but *they are about so much more than just their looks, **most of their songs are full of meaning and talk about some pretty important issues and topics, and ***our fanbase is actually diverse as hell! I have seen BTS fans of EVERY age, EVERY race, EVERY gender, EVERY religion.) I wish more people could just read their lyrics and get a feel for who they really are, with open minds and eyes unclouded by preconceived judgments.

I like how open minded most people here are. When you read BTS' lyrics without telling anyone that they are a boyband or "kpop", there is a positive reaction. But the stigma that comes with both of these labels is what turns a lot of people to unfairly conclude that their music is just for the masses and so many people deem 'boyband' fans' taste in music is somewhat less valuable and BTS aren't really true artists. It's what "girls like", specifically teen girls. I've never liked kpop or boybands but I like BTS, and I hope more people will listen to them and their full albums without prejudice. I think their title tracks have more mainstream appeal yes, but no one is noticing how people are listening to their full albums and buying their old music when they first get into BTS. BTS both write and produce their music and this is another thing that sets them apart.

Maybe if they read the full lyrics they would understand the song better. You can’t just give them a part of the song and expect them to understand. And the parts that they showed were weird, like for dope they cut RMs rap off right in the middle. Is this how this series usually is for other artists? Like is it meant to be kind of random so that it’s kind of funny because it’s confusing?

I agree. If anything, I feel like if I didn't know the artist's lyrics/discography, I'd come to the same conclusions and be completely wrong about them (and prejudice them). It doesn't really help with forming a picture of what the artist is about. I hope they improve this series because we should appreciate music and lyrics more than what meets the eye.
