That looks like a fun place to drive a wrangler for the fun of it. I am still amazed how small the KH1 is and easy to use too.

Yes, it's a fun off-roading location and the KH1 is great

What you Guys doing is just amazing and a big Inspiration to other HAMs to get their Butts out of their Shacks to explore and experience the Beauty of Mother Nature. Tnx for all you do for HAM Radio, Charlie & Dan. 73 de Uncle Günter 🙋♂

Great video, Charlie! So I'm sure you know this now, but the left two buttons on the front of the radio control the keyer speed. Simply tap the left one to QRS, and the right one to speed up. There's a + and - above each button. Man...I just can't imagine hiking to a summit and finding a huge cactus! I really need to SOTA in the desert states sometime! Cheers, Thomas K4SWL

Yeah, I went in blind and was a little embarrassed when I got home and learned how easy it is to change cw speed. Desert does mix it up for us a bit! hahaha. Thanks Thomas!

I really like the KH1. I don’t much like the “built in” pen, but it 100% satisfies my requirements of a BUP (back up pen) and works in a pinch.
@RedSummitRF11 ай бұрын
I wondered about that pen. I'm sure you saw that I log with my phone, so didn't have a chance to try it.

You can just get an alligator clip with some extra wire to get on 40 M, no need for another antenna. Thanks for the demo.

What are your thoughts on the sidetone?
@RedSummitRF10 ай бұрын
The sidetone sounds like a cheap toy, but it doesn't annoy me all that much.

The sidetone sounds awful ! Like a squarewave, not a nice pure sinewave tone.
@RedSummitRF10 ай бұрын
Yes - they have provided a way to change that though. I barrowed this radio again from my friends and it sounded more normal. But yeah, it was not a great sound haha!
