I"m a retired police officer and I still love this movie it was great for it"s time, when cops were cops clean shaven and looking like the professionals they were! Facial hair and ear rings were for specialized units which made you work harder to join and earn that position, not like now a days. What a shame!!! I"m glad I retired there is no pride anymore !!!

Well said, and sadly so true! From another retired old beat cop that came from the early 70's. Different world, different mindset, a camaraderie no longer! Different rules of the game, played by different players!

@@davidabney7700: Thank you my brother, you can say that again. The politicians got just what they wanted, mindless robot's, poorly trained cops that they can control. They hated the camaraderie that once permeated within the ranks and every police Dept. through out the U.S.A. But now it's gone like the Buffalo. I'm glad I'm retired. We beat them at their own game..Just take care of yourself at their expense , keep your health up, just keep living and collecting those pension checks. Make them pay us back for every pound of flesh and them some that they took from us .

I'm amazed how many depts seem to have no standards about a lot of things these days. Not that the officers are bad (they're not), but they all seem to look like SWAT personnel in their tactical wear. Now maybe it's just the times that we love in, but I'm sure we can all remember the days when no one even thought that body armor was a thing. And if the situation called for it, put a tac vest on. First there was under-the-shirt armor plates. Now they all look like they're deployed for war. I guess in some areas they really are. I know that I digress, but the "cop" moustaches were all that was allowed (I loved mine 🤣) and not in your academy says. Anyway, I still respect the badge ❤

Such a fabulous score, especially "Monument Valley." It still gives me an emotional chill when I hear it.

What a great underrated movie. The music was produced and performed by the band Chicago. I obtained the soundtrack on vinyl in the early 80's after watching the movie on tv in the UK. I was only in my teens then but loved the music and still do. The vinyl album was well presented with a massive poster and a glossy booklet. It also had a gate fold sleeve. The original vinyl recording featured quite a bit of dialogue quotes from the movie. I picked up the soundtrack on cd a while ago but dialogue had been edited out.

It's odd how the end credits don't give credits to the music being performed by members of Chicago. Tell Me was sung by Terry Kath, but it just says it's by James William Guercio. I know he was on a shoe string budget when he produced this film, so he probably didn't give them credit so he wouldn't have to pay them, but he did write the score and that's impressive.

James William Guercio was at the time, Chicago's record producer so of course he was going to use their talents in this film. He also wrote the whole film score. Terry Kath singing Tell Me should've been on a Chicago album. I wish I could get this soundtrack on cd.

I saw this film about five times when it came out in 1973. I was a UK Chicago nut and loved their music but the British music press, the NME mainly, were rotten about them. They seemingly weren't rock enough for them with their horns. I eventually bought the soundtrack by mail order in 1976, it is brilliant with these cuts and the country style songs. Very Chicago, but I suppose a smoother version perhaps not as rocky. I think Terry Kath played bass on these tracks. I've long lost the album sadly. Terrific film as well. I've since spent time in Arizona and I always think of the film when I'm there.
