May I ask why you make the player and the controls like this, when you could just switch the gamemode into platformer, and make the player the robot, and add a double jump.

This is a spin-off of Floating Outskirts, a minigame made in 2.1. There are some features of the controls that are distinct from platformer that can't be recreated just from modifying the current platformer mode. First of all, the movement speed-up is instantaneous, which makes for much more responsive and fast-paced platforming as opposed to Vanilla platformer mode which has acceleration-based movement.
