I was literally just discussing with a co-worker today how Electric bikes are more of a thing than he originally though (as he was looking at getting an electric car). I said that the problem is most electric bikes are way more expensive vs petrol ones than compared to electric cars vs petrol ones, Then this comes out! 40 mile range is interesting though, as is 2.5hp engine. I guess this is closer to those electric scooter, for people who prefer the bike form factor, and as it is the "equivalent" of a 50cc scooter, you aren't going to want to go that far on it anyway. It looks good though, and for the price its not too bad for a toy.

I've been an Electric Car owner for 3 years to gain an insight into the market. The cars are great but the range claims are so variable. You also need to be mindful of infrastructure for charging and have to have a driveway or garage. Motorcycles offer the advantage of removable batteries to make them truly accessible. The factory claim a 60 mile range (At 20 miles an hour continuous). The peak power is also 32.kw/4.29bhp. It's great fun :)

Hi is it normal for a brand new bike to fail a pre delivery inspection? I payed for a viper and am still waiting for it??? Ime loosing insurence and tax as a result. Any feed back will help. Thanks

Hi John, We generally suggest that Dealers complete PDI tests on bikes before registration to avoid this from happening. Have you got dealer details so we can take a look? Ultimately we'd rather have an issue picked up and resolved through PDI rather than with a new rider.

Looks nice, but the 45Kph top speed doesn't cut it for me. Other than that it would be an ideal commuter bike for my 10 mile out of town trip to work, range would be fine.

We've got to start somewhere! The 45kph top speed is a bit on the low side, true but it also means that users are not overstretching the battery. The future will be more exciting but it takes time :)

Yeh exactly, It seems a verrrry niche bike. A mini bike that looks like a normal bike but is electric and can’t go very far. If it had even 60 miles to a charge it would be better.

@@coedcaes1thiccboi521 In other countries they claim 60 mile range on this exact model. We're being very cautious when it comes to user expectations though. I'd rather promote a realistic 40 and have people be happy rather than mislead people with a 60 mile figure :)

Lithium Battery Technology is completely different to Lead-acid. Lead acid batteries work but can fail if they discharge to a low point. We've been waiting until the right Lithium Ion Vehicle was available before entering this market. The batteries and motors are back with a 3 year battery and motor warranty.

Top speed is 30 mph 40 miles range and 1500w motor. To be honest I don't like it because it's class as a moped just looks like motorcycle, they should have bought the 3000w version that has a peak power of 6- 8kw and does 58mph. I'd get it if it had 3000w version and pay £4400 if they do that in the future. Will see

We hope to get to that sort of spec but we don't have the brand reputation to pull it off quite yet. Our market is price sensitive and if we bring out anything close to that price people will just go to Honda or Yamaha. We're keen to learn about this market and want to build it sustainably. We hope to have a ride out completed soon which discusses a few points which should be of interest.

Lexmoto if you can't take criticism over a video that frankly doesn't show much what does that say about your company? For anyone reading this let me explain further, lexmoto put this video up as a live reveal and myself plus others posted negative comments because the clip shows very little apart from a few flashing images . The bike isn't the problem it's the video it's self, they then closed the video to comment and removed those comments .Not good , if you can't take criticism don't put videos up .
