Electric Cars of China: Founder Story of NIO

Called the Elon Musk of China, William Li is the Founder & CEO of NIO, an electric car manufacturer. The most important thing for NIO is offering users a variety of services connected with the vehicle and creating a truly integrated user experience. During his talk at Slush, William will share what pain points electric cars are still facing and how the industry is developing in China. He is being interviewed by Andreas Saari, CEO at Slush.

As a fellow American, my hats goes off to William. He learned our language so he can communicate with us how he is helping the WORLD cut back on pollution by creating vehicles that run on electricity. Yes he could've went with an interpreter but look at his face when he is speaking. That is a face of a person that is proud of their achievement and happy to share it with us personally. For people that want to comment dumb things and joke on peoples accents or speech when they worked hard to learn our language, do you know more than one language, have you achieved great things that would change the world you live in, do you have the balls to try and speak a different language in front of cameras or in an arena. I'm sure he know his English is not perfect but that didn't stop him from going up there. So lets please give respect to those who go the extra mile cause easy is not always better.

I'm long on both Tesla and NIO, so obviously hope they succeed. That being said, I think there's room for multiple winners in the Chinese EV market, which is going to be enormous. There are many other companies that also could pan out to be major players in the Chinese EV market, with both NIO and Tesla seemingly geared more towards the premium end of that market. NIO has an intriguing product and great marketing, and I like their NOMI device a lot, plus they beat Tesla on price. This video doesn't quite do justice to the NIO CEO's charisma since he's speaking his second language here. NIO looks like they have the potential to be a sharp competitor, although Tesla's business in China should definitely ramp up significantly when their Shanghai gigafactory goes into production, which should also help narrow the gap on price. NIO is also supposed to be building a factory in Shanghai, so it should be interesting to see how things evolve.

Im a random white South African man. When I listen to this Chinese CEO I get goosebumps. I expect massive things from this leader. Something tells me this man is extremely focused, dependable and ambitious. I don't get the bullshit vibes I was getting from Nikola CEO. I invested 200 us dollars in tesla 18 months ago. It grew to R1250 dollars at about 1500 per share. I thought, fuck this can't carry on, sold it all and got into Nikola. In a month my stock dropped 10 % and I went back to Tesla(during that month tesla grew from 1500 to 2000 per share so I lost a nice 400 dollars as well as about 110 dollars on Nikola). After a while, I saw Nio and realised this the correct company I wanted to reinvest my bloated earnings from the original Tesla investment. Yesterday my Nio investment grew 19% in one day. Nio has cars on the ground, have an interesting battery swop system and cater to the biggest market in the world. Their cars also seem super cool like teslas(not the cheap market). A problem I had with Nikola is: No cars made yet and they need to install a hydrogen fuel cell network when battery cars can rest on the existing electrical grid.

William Li is a well respected Entrepreneur in China. Highly educated with triple degree and did it all at the same time and taking 17 exams in one day and passed with flying colours. Became a billionaire before 26 years old. He is another Jack Ma and actually his background is even more impressive than Jack Ma. His work ethics is next to none and probably work more harder than Elon Musk. I would plough my savings into NIO shares because his value proportion on his cars are even more stronger than Tesla with the market of China of 1.4 billion people. His cars can swap out battery in less than 5-6 minutes, cabin is luxury and has AI in the car with NIO customer service ratings of 5 stars. There is so much other good stuff from this guy's approach and delivery. One of his major is Computer Science so the AI features in is car is spectacular. When they fully integrate into the 5G with autonomous mode - driverless mode, it will be a force to be reckoned with. Very bright future for this share. Personally, I believe their shares will hit over US$600 within 4 years.

NIO’s customers are loyal to this brand. If you are experienced NIO house, you will be into this brand as well. Remember NIO is just a 6 years old company, which has huge potential. They spend first 2 years dedicated to apply countless patents. Q2 financial result will be published around 9/22, with high possibility gross margin turns positive. There are over 200,000 active users on NIO APP everyday. Not even mention government funding with billion dollars to promote EV cars in China. Battery as service program kicks off in late July will help knock down upfront payments around USD$15000 which makes more affordable. Overall, NIO has huge potential and Waiting for this stock to go skyrocket.

no doubt, Chinese people are good at business in the first place. they are a fast thinker, risk taker and action follower (copycat). Being a copycat is not always a bad thing, but to get boundaries more wider and make your broke life more easier. China has no shame in copying but trying to make ways for a good cause. China is cutting sales tax in 2020 , Tesla will get this sales tax cut too, however Tesla purchasers will pay trade tariffs. Nio purchasers dont pay trade tariffs.
