How long does this last, for how many head?
@bearfamilyfarm

There’s about 300 head or so in here and should last till about sept-Oct with the amount of brush in this specific pasture. Depending on weather that may last longer or shorter

@@bearfamilyfarm Thanks! I'm running 20 spanish goats here in virginia on a large cattle farm to help clear out brush for them and I'm glad to have came across your videos for ideas :) hoping I can expand to 300 soon!

Ok no rotation or very little how do you keep parasites down.

@@SJA-ox3hs there’s plenty of acreage for the herd to spread and not be concentrated in one area. When we notice the brush start to dwindle and only have grass left we plan a move. As long as grass is still 4-6inches tall we don’t notice parasite problems. We have not had any this year even with all the rain. When we do notice a goat that looks wormy we’ve realized it’s better to let nature run its course and 8/10 they bounce back without treatment. If we have medicine with us we will spot treat if we can catch them. But that never works out either we don’t have medication on us or we can’t catch the goat and only further stress it by trying to catch them. We definitely do not worm in mass numbers on a schedule. The other 2/10 are not so lucky and in turn make the genetics in the herd stronger with those 2/10 not reproducing inferior genetics.
