Thanks to video we get to show rather than tell this extraordinary green aircraft.
The UK has taken off into a sustainable future with SaxonAir's revolutionary Pipistrel electric aircraft. This innovative light plane is leading the charge for emission-free aviation in the UK and beyond. Leased from Flyabout Aviation, the trainer is already in service as part of the firm's commitment to sustainability,
Founded in Slovenia, and bought out by Textron Aviation, Pipistrel has been at the forefront of electric flight since 2007. Their two-seater Alpha Electro trainer has now been certified by the UK CAA and EASA.
The Pipistrel boasts a 50 kW electric motor powered by a lithium-ion battery. It can cruise at 90 knots for up to one hour of flight time. The plane produces zero emissions, allowing environmentally-friendly training and local recreational flights.
Electric engines provide a smooth, quiet flight experience. The lightweight composite airframe amplifies the aerodynamic efficiency. Cockpit benefits include increased visibility, simple controls, and low workload for pilots.
As the first certified electric aircraft in the UK, the Pipistrel is paving the way for a new era of sustainable aviation. Lighter batteries with higher energy densities will continue to extend its capabilities. The future looks bright for emission-free flying thanks to forward-thinking companies like SaxonAir.
