The whole printed up retainer thing was very nice the only thing I could think of was the power source, and I’m not sure what you are going to do too keep the 12 volt system charged up. Nice work! I used to get paid to fix cars, and my brake lines rarely looked that neat. 🤣 The VW reservoir setup is handy too. Have you thought about putting the bracket on thingyverse or similar? One little point - it's generally better to have fuses near the battery. They protect the cable (from shorting against bodywork etc.) as much as they do the load.
@NewZeroland Жыл бұрын
Thanks man! Ahh good point. I'll keep the fuses in mind when I put it all back together. I'm 50/50 about moving the 12V battery to the front of the car. It could help balance the weight, but it might make routing wires a mess. We'll see how it goes. And yeah I should put that bracket online so other people can download it!
@jrevillug Жыл бұрын
@@NewZeroland There's probably one or two big wires running from the battery or starter terminal up front to the fuse box/switch gear. In theory you could unpick that from the loom, connect to the battery up front, and just add a new wire for the 12V charger. Pulling the loom out to do that is not the work of a moment, but could save a little bit of weight, especially if you pull out all the ECU wiring etc. as well.
@NewZeroland Жыл бұрын

Hello, your project looks fantastic! I'm curious about the long-term performance of the electric brake booster. I also drive a Honda CRV from Malaysia equipped with the first-generation iBooster from Bosch. However, I've noticed some inconsistencies in the brake pedal and travel stroke. It's fine in cold weather, but once it warms up, the pedal seems too low, and there's an issue with front and rear brake bias. Have you ever encountered or experienced something similar that you could share?
@NewZeroland Жыл бұрын
Whoa, interesting! I just installed mine so I haven't run into those kinds of issues yet, bit I'll keep an eye out for them. Have you done a brake fluid flush?

Yes, I've attempted brake bleeding multiple times, but unfortunately, the improvement only seems to last for a day or two. I've decided to schedule an appointment with a senior technician at the Honda service center for next Monday. This decision came after visiting several service centers, where I encountered varying explanations. Some claimed to have performed a reset with a diagnostic tool, although it appears that they merely cleared the DTC on one of the occasions@@NewZeroland
