I admit that as a 60 year old it's hard to accept when one of ELO's anthems (my favourite) is turned into a remix. Now I know your other remixes of songs from my second passion, black music. ELO was great. You can hear elements of disco in it as Jeff Lynne mentioned in that old interview. You could also hear pieces of it for sure in "Xanadu" "Don't Bring Me Down" and "Evil Woman."

Jeff Lynne is a master because he respected classical and rock music. I see his body of work in the same light as Ludwig van Beethoven and Frédéric Chopin. Jeff Lynne stood upon the shoulders of giants and took music to the next level. His contribution should never be forgotten.

No doubt about "Xanadu" (which, by the way, is Lynne's favorite composition). The movie was, for the most part, a roller disco vehicle. Also true about "Don't Bring Me Down", along with most of the tracks from Discovery; that was their attempt at a "disco" album. There's even a story that the album is named Discovery because it is "very disco" (discovery -> disco very -> very disco).
