True story, when I was about 14yrs old When I would sleep I would have the radio on. All of a sudden "can't get it out of my head" was playing, it was the first I had heard the song, I literally had an out of body experience. To this day the song brings tears to my eyes.

Rediscovered ELO at fifty-five. Appreciate them even more than when I was young. Their music seems so inventive, layered and sophisticated. It transports me back to my youth and has awaked my stagnant love of music. ❤❤❤

One Of The Greatest Songwriter/Performer/Musician that IMO Has Lived in Modern Times. This Is Not "Head Banging" Garbage or "Rap Trash." Real Music From One Of the Finest and My All Time Favorite "Musician" That I Know. Been a Hugh Fan Since the 70's. Yes I Play Guitar too but Jeff Can Do It All, Compose, Perform, Etc. Huge Talent that has Dwindled in Today's Auto Tuned World. A Tragic Shame. I Miss This Type of Fine Class Rock! Thank You Jeff, I Even Have Mr. Blue Sky Reserved in My Will to Be Played at My Funeral. With What I'm Going Through Now that Could Be Anytime. God Bless You Jeff Lynn and Thank You Sir!

Me also. I have them tied with the Beatles, Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd. Jeff Lynne is a living breathing creator of one of the most innovative sounds melding classical instruments(violin, cello etc.)with electric guitar and hard driving drums! He was and is a visionary who I would love to thank for the many times that his magical music made me feel stronger, better and happier.

OMG!!!!! What a masterful performance!!! A time in history when we believed anything was possible! The Electric Light Orchestra was either Greatly Loved or Severely criticized for doing what many other bands had attempted to do so well! That is merge the classical with the rock and rollia and create this fantastically energized, melodic magic in our musical history! I am so grateful for Roy Wood and Jeff Lynne for their commitment to making this all come true for all of us children in the light out there! But especially, I would like to credit to the MOVE! For if not for this band, we would not be here, listening to ELO now!

I saw the third day tour in April 1974, about three feet in front of Jeff at the Joint In The Woods, Parsippiny , NJ. Which is my favorite album by ELO. Saw the El Dorado tour from the second row at the convention center in Asbury Park, NJ, Summer 1975 with backstage passes. then Face the Music at the Beacon Theatre in NYC in 76. The next year 1977 A New World Record they played Madison Square Garden with a curtain partitioning behind the stage and parts of the side. In September 1978, with Out the Blue they sold out three nights at the Garden . Great memories

Few pop groups have the musical talent needed to reproduce their recordings live, ELO was top shelf which is quite impressive considering the style akin to symphonic related construction . I saw them in San Francisco in 1973 and I came away thinking this band is bordering on the level of classically trained musicians. John Lennon was asked if the Beatles were to start up again, who would they most sound like, which with little hesitation replied " probably ELO",

In an early nineteen seventies era when typical classic prog rock bands only had synthesizers, guitars and complex pieces (which I totally still love in 2024)…., ELO went a step beyond with wooden strings and still succeeded!! I remember hearing kids in school saying “yah, ELO has this song where he sings the ‘eff word” and I felt so cool saying “yah, oh no not Susan!!!” Thank you ELO!!!!

I remember one of those Montreal concerts in 1975 - my first concert ever. The Fire dept was getting grumpy with people who kept lighting rolls of toilet paper afire and tossing them up&over the rafters, for a visual effect. The usual cease and desist announcements did no good of course. The Jeff Lynne stopped in mid-song and said that if it happened again, they (the band) was leaving. Not so much as a lighter in sight after that

What I love about this - all of this is a pretty good production, but what REALLY makes it is the performance of each individual who was a part of it. Post production and pre-recorded material (as far as I know, anyway) were not to credit for the quality of these performances. This was about well written and well performed material by people who genuinely cared about what they were doing.

I saw ELO live around the time of this filming. They played at the historic and intimate, Stanley Theater in Pittsburgh, PA and they dressed and looked just like this. Bare bones... no elaborate stage, no spectacular light show, nothing fancy and no sunglasses worn by Jeff Lynne. At one point, the guy playing the fiddle, Mick, climbed onto the shoulders of one of the other musicians and played furiously as he was carried about the stage. It was crazy! Comedian Martin Mull was the opening act. He could not do a "stand-up" routine as he had a broken leg and had to perform seated in a chair. It was a great evening indeed!

@@Oh_I_Will thats a good one, u lost count...in how many different cities? I saw spaceship tour in Cleveland and in Detroit...the rest of the concerts were all in Detroit area...only tour i missed was face the music, winter of "76" they returned a few months later in summer of "76" i was able to catch that concert, they did face the music along with a few songs from "new world record" ...that came out in September "76" and of course "fusion video" face the music tour, was an awesome video since i missed the tour

I like the rawness of Mike’s voice, and his bass sound.

Yep, the Moody Blues and ELO were both as great in person as on their albums. Lots of different sounds...awesome.
