There is a reason why his videos are so effective. Ive noticed that his black background and light colours sometime create a photographic memory of the diagrams he draws. It helps understand all the concepts really good. I can imagine the motion in diagrams better in my mind.

I wasted so much time watching other videos trying to understand the difference between electric potential and electric potential energy. It put me almost a month behind in my Physics II class, and my test is tomorrow 😭 I found this video yesterday, and you did such an amazing job that I actually cried. I instantly got the membership and have been cramming ever since! I dont have much hope of passing this test with a great score, BUT I now have hope that I can catch up, and actually pass the class with an A or B. Thank you so much for all of the great content, and for giving me a fighting chance at passing my class!

For question 3, because the charge first decelerates from B to A, then comes to a stop, then accelerates towards C, wouldn't the total work done on the charge be positive, the potential energy be decreasing and KE increasing? Wouldn't it just have less work done on it (in comparison to part a) because the work done moving from B to A is negative but the work done from A to C be positive and greater than the work from B to A?
@GodbornNoven

Okay so simple Electric potential( fuck wikipedia they're unreliable) is energy available to do work per unit of charge in an electric field. Voltage is the difference in electric potential between two points, basically the amount of work that was needed to move a unit of charge from its position at the first point to it's position at the second point in an electric field.
@EmpyreanLightASMR
@EmpyreanLightASMR Жыл бұрын
4:43 this is backwards, isn't it? V_ab is the voltage at A with respect to B. You would write the integral with "a" as the lower limit and "b" as the upper limit. V_ab is Vb - Va. That makes me question a few things. Do people teach these terms differently?
@tatelangdon4809
@tatelangdon4809 3 ай бұрын
hey comments, for question 3, the workdone can also be explained that w=-qv, and since -q is negative and v is due to the positive charge move from a to b where a has higher potential than b so that the potential differnce is also negative . making w positive right?

@14:18 if the negative plate has a negative charge how can it have zero volts? Isnt zero volts associated with an object that has zero net charge? P.s. i watched this and other videos to get an understanding of what voltage is and how it works, and i still dont know. I saw electrons and protons emit an electric field and when two objects with equal opposite net charges are next to each other it creates a potential difference aka a voltage, but then you go and say a negatively charged plate has a voltage of zero. What makes it make even less sense is you are saying one plate with a net charge does have a voltage and the other plate that also has a net charge has no voltage. If an object with a net charge has a voltage, why does one plate have zero volts? Am i learning this wrong or is it being taught wrong?

I did charge transfer analysis on circuits junctions. I came to some theoretical conclusions: The electrons are transferred in pairs only. The number of electrons , on a closed dc circuit must be even. Static electron, entering a circuit, in his frame of refference sees both the - and the +. P.s My eduction is not formal, so i dont stick to conventions. Extrapulations mode suggest that there is something missing in the conventional way we treat charge. I cant put my finger on it , yet. The convention of + and - is incomplete/ over simplified.
