I recently started getting demolishers in quite the amount at our day 56 horde and oh boy did they break our horde base to bits! Now am looking for effective ways to deal with them. This video definitely helped me to learn about the dart trap, thx! Also, I saw another video that, from A20, demos can be damaged without triggering them by turrets!
@SavensWorld2 жыл бұрын
Traps can be a great way to handle Demos! You are correct about Turrets as well! I did an update video about them here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/iKLXhnmZdt12edE

Well done, Saven! I appreciate the time you put into prepping for this video [testing ground with visual distance aids, etc.]. Your focus was the viewer and that is EXACTLY where your focus should be, when making informational/educational videos. Thank you, my friend.

For some reason in my head, I had dart traps figured as mostly pvp. Have to add them into the mix. Thanks Savin.

Thanks for this , I’ve been playing 7 days to die on console for a long time , recently switch over to a PC setup and I’m still learning the ropes with alpha 19. I’m 2 days from my day 21 horde and I need to get some traps going😂

You're welcome! I'm a console transplant myself. I know how difficult it can be to make the transition to the PC version. I'm glad my videos have helped make that transition a bit easier for you!

Cool video. Good one Saven. Personally I use the blade traps in pairs. I place them stacked on top of each other with the blades on the top trap facing down. Since the blades are rotating in opposite directions it seems to slow the zombies down slightly more and kind of traps them in the blades a little longer. A little side note on the electric fence posts. The farthest distance you can space them apart is 15 blocks. That's counting the blocks that the posts are sitting on with 13 blocks of space between them. They also need to be within line of sight to space them that far otherwise the electric line won't allow you to stretch it that far. Without line of sight I think 9 blocks of space is the max distance you can go.
@SavensWorld4 жыл бұрын
Correct. Wires can only stretch for ten blocks, but you can reach an additional 5 blocks to connect a wire.

thanks for the video. I was just wondering how the electric fence works and now I know.

For the blade traps, if you place them a block higher they will decapitate zombies and kill them instantly (sans radiated zombies)

Excellent tip!

Can you place them on the ceiling facing down in a corridor to do this? On further thought, not sure if thats the best plan as then the dogs and crawlers would go under them, right? Maybe alternate a bit and put one setup for head shots at the start to quickly mow down the regular zombies, then a couple on the ground to clear out the crawlers and such.

Saven my friend makes blocks and puts blade traps on top of them and close together. Hence getting head shots on Zombies. Ever tried that?

Can one make the horde come from one direction? I haven't used god mode so getting that amount of resources takes time and usually end up hodgepodge, yet I'm visualizing a three frame thick back end and an open field for the killing zone. Start with electric traps to freeze until there are sufficient zombies to use explosives. Have iron spikes next and try to strip any legs, then enter a raised one frame killing corridor with the dart trap at the shooting end. Sounds like I could drink beer all horde night long. Caveat; I've never played a campaign beyond 43 days so there could be things I don't know about.

If zombies are killed by your traps, do you get XP? I seem to remember not getting XP from spike traps.
@SavensWorld4 жыл бұрын
With points in Advanced Engineering, you will get xp from electric trap kills. This doesn't work with spikes, however. You don't get xp from spike trap kills.

how do you pick up blade traps

You need to have a land claim block down covering the area where you initially placed the trap.
