@The Tired Horizon 100W is MUCH LOUDER than 20w... put it through a 4x12 cab and tell me it isn't louder.
@gimmigimmigimmi3 жыл бұрын
@The Tired Horizon I am a sound engineer, I (used to, thank you covid) work at gigs every day. In smaller venues, bands usually share the same backline and only swap heads. Trust me, there's a massive difference in volume, and sound, between a 100W head and a 30W head. The amount of low-end and sound pressure you get from a cranked 100W head at it's something you won't achieve with smaller heads. that comes from saturating the power section, not just the preamp. four el34 are much louder than a pair of el84 :)

No neck drop on that SG is crazy....all my cheaper sg's headstocks sank like anchors. With SG's I think the plastic tuning heads you have are needed to save weight. Cool vid!
@Spaghettaboutit3 жыл бұрын
I think the thick strap also helps a bit.
@philtheairplanemechanic3 жыл бұрын
I love my SG dearly but holy shit it's a full time job keeping the headstock up. I always play it with a strap specifically to be safe from letting the headstock fall too far. When I got it I felt at first like I wouldn't really touch my LP as much anymore but I still find myself playing the Paul just because it's easier to hold. I do love how far the neck joint on the SG is though.
@raypauta37843 жыл бұрын
@@philtheairplanemechanic try balancing it by using plastic tuning heads, adding counter weights inside the electronics cavity, thick strap, and if thats not enough, keep the tuners and get rid of the SG. I play SG's and Telecasters, I get sg sounds from downtuned tele's. I only have Tele's now until I find a balanced SG like the lucky son in this video
@raypauta37843 жыл бұрын
That's a thin strap, looks like a 2 inch? I may be wrong. But you need like a 4 inch bass strap for it to actually remedy 2 lbs of neck drop.

I bought the micro dark. It sounds so good and its actually keeps up with a drummer(couple gripes)!!!!!! I really just need more clarity, a 3 knob eq(B/M/T). that single tone shape knob only sounds good at noon (on my Viper 1000 w/emgs) when volume and gain are both at like 90% through a peavey 412. If it were easier to haul my cumbersome pedal board around it wouldnt be a prob, cause I have an eq pedal(among other tasty stuff). If this were gonna by a live piece I'd trade it for the other one( 15 watt micro terror or a joyo) Except in practice, the effects loop is wayyyyy more nifty, cause my live/main rig has one and since I have it(live rig) I'm not too too worried about the less than ideal, for me, performance. If you want FAT tone, but clarity is negotiable, get the Micro Dark. I highly recommend looking at the joyo line(like 6 options)/ the zombie from bantamp!!!(I think 2 channel, and effects loop)
