"Electric Wizard" is a synonymous of the heaviest distortions, crazy ass solos, dying vocals, bursted basss As I wanted some more Dopethrone, I digged through Weedeater's god luck and good speed I mean, even "We Live" of the Wizard is not Dopethrone but its satisfying Wizard Bloody Wizard is amazing, but it doesn't Wizard like before

The internet and culture in general is ruled by snotty 19 year olds. Metal and hard rock has turned into either pop music or band kids playing as much jazz under animal noises as possible and thinking they are Frank Zappa or Yngie Malmsteen or however you spell it. They are all hooknose nerds who couldn't groove to a bass line if a chick was blowing their dingle dangler.

I'm so cold inside My feelings petrified Your torturous screams mean nothing to me. This dying world gasps its last breath as we turn off our minds All hope is lost, there'll be no new dawn and all of your dreams will die Die. I need something to fix the pain Baby, baby, stick the needle in And I'll be dead and blue Just like you. This dying world gasps its last breath as we turn off our minds All hope is lost, there'll be no new dawn and all of your dreams will die Die. Hell still haunting me I know I'll never be free Lucifer my only friend, I'll burn in hell to the end, yeah. I'm so dead inside Wishing I could die Your torturous screams still haunt my dreams. This dying world gasps its last breath as we turn off our minds All hope is lost, there'll be no new dawn and all of your dreams will die. Die. This world has made me depraved and sick Yeah baby I tortured you just for kicks But I am obsessed by evil Forever a servant of the Devil.

This is the same style as the rest of their work. Unfortunately, this style, the wizard's style, needs to be punchier and more menacing to make sense. All I can say is that this is a real grower and getting better with every listen. Even at their most average, EW still beats the shit out of the 95% of the stoner/doom/hardrock (revival) scene today in terms of heaviness and good songwriting. Also I do not see any point in comparing a band's new material to older releases; each recording by any artist/band should be looked upon as an entity of its own.

I gotta admit that i was a bit disappointed at first, because after the very dark, threatening and psyched-out Time To Die i expected a continuation of this particular style (i wasn't a big fan of Black Masses, i prefer the "doomy" side of the wizard and Time To Die was a nice blend of Dopethrone-esque heaviness and a gloomy, other-worldly retro vibe). But it grew on me, and i trust them that the new album will not sound like the rest of the current bluesy retro wave. It would be a pity if the mighty wizard would turn into a standard occvlt rock band.

Totally agree with you. I mean, this isnt bad, but it lacks the super bleak psychedelic sound which suffuses your ears like a hot tar. This feels kind of "basic". (Which was the point as Jus sayed it in one interview i think.)

Can't wait for the next album. I like that they're at least trying to evolve and develop a sound beyond their earlier stuff. Though I would like them to go back a little to the heavier tone of their earlier work, while still keeping the more experimental edge of their recent output. Ya'll are the kings of doom metal regardless.

Lyrics I'm so cold inside My feelings can't survive Your torturous screams Mean nothing to me This dying world gasps its last breath at me Die by my hands All hope is lost There'll be no new dawn And all of your dreams will die (die) I need something to fix the pain Baby, baby, please stick the needle in Then I'll be dead and blue Just like you This dying world gasps its last breath at me Die by my hands All hope is lost There'll be no new dawn And all of your dreams will die (die) They're still haunting me I know I'll never be free Lucifer, my only friend I'll burn in hell to the end, yeah! I'm so dead inside Wishing I could die Your torturous screams Still haunt my dreams This dying world gasps its last breath at me Suffer by my hands All hope is lost There'll be no new dawn And all of your dreams will die (die) This world is crazy and makes me sick Maybe I'll torture you just for kicks But I lie here possessed by evil Forever a servant of the devil

Not at all surprising to find 54 -55 years ago we would be cranking up the stereo to hear the first Black Sabbath album & how nice to hear they still have a major impact on Heavy Rock & what now has become one of many forms of Metal . If you have to have influences & play hard & heavy Black Sabbath is still influencing musicians young & old. So this band is not by any means Black Sabbath & i don't think they think they are but they definitely have the influence .

Very different guitar tone, overall band sound and especially production wise. Plus no more distorted vocals. All the albums they have made, have had a lil different sound and vibe than the previous. Love it or hate it, solid album. Definitely not their best, but good and at least they aren't stagnating. Last couple albums sounded sort of uninspired to me.

I fucking love electric wizard. And they can play whatever they want to play. But this is the worst riff they have ever done. It sounds like a parody of an imitation. And no, dopethrone is not my favourite album. There is no menace to this. No dream. Hate to say it but it has nothing that made me fall in love with electric wizard. I still love them but this is shit. I hope its just the sellout single and the rest of the album is heavy as fuck. Listening to this i felt grief.
