Difference Between VFD and Soft Starter| What is Soft Starter| Variable Frequency Drive | Hindi

Soft Starter main purpose: 1) Provides smooth Acceleration and Deceleration of the motor. 2) Used only in Starting and Stoping of motor and not in normal running condition. 3) No harmonic problem. 4) Varies only Voltage 5) Need to physically change the phase sequence of the motor to cahge DOR of motor. VFD main purpose: 1) Can vary the rpm of the motor along with smooth acceleration and deceleration of motor. 2) Used in both Runing and Stoping condition as well as in Normal running condition. 3) Contains Harmonic problems. (Specially 3rd order Harmonics) 4) Varies both Voltage and Frequency. 5) We just need to cahnge the selection on the VFD pannel to change the DOR of motor.
