At 18:35, had most of my fellow HVACR techs, here, on the opposite side of the pond, been presented with that opportunity, the "rubber band, with jumbo paper clip" would have been deployed, with the accuracy of a crossbow and sniper! I love watching these U.K. electricians videos, seeing one where you don't have to straighten out someone else's "horrendous job", is quite rewarding! Nick, and Adam do some of the neatest work I've seen; those who've trained each of you, did the training right! Stay safe, stay healthy, and have the greatest 2022, the both of you!!

Loved Adam's piece to camera, watching at 1.5x speed he sounded pretty similar to Nick to the point I had to do a double take. Happy to see the way I wired all my quinetic switches up was the same way as Adam did with insulating inside another box. I didn't think to use a XL wago box though, would of been easier than an IP67 external box and cable glands.

The grey matter has had to think on this one, but the light switch Adam was taking off was one from the Tenby? range of accessories which were made around 1991 (ish). This would tie in the release of the song called "Get the funk out" by Extreme which was around the same time so its quite likely this was on the radio when the board was being fitted when the house was being built. Wouldnt be surprised if the whole row of houses had the same calling card of that sparky in the CU.

@chriscook7049
@chriscook7049 2 жыл бұрын
@@bill6953 If the cable is in place and in good condition, why replace it? Unless the customer wants to pay for the extra time, then its just a waste. There's no rule saying you have to replace old cable, just label the board as having both wiring schemes. Competent electricians aren't going to get confused as long as the old colours are used correctly. Less competent ones will still find a way of messing things up even with the right colours.

Just wondered if the clients and anything your filming is consented to or do you just film what you want. I do house removals with loads of different situations and properties that i think would be interesting and entertaining to watch but didn't think i could film there homes and addresses and post them publicly. I've thought about doing this filming stuff for years but didn't think i legally could but after you told us how much you earn. I'm tempted but don't want to get sued. Also if they see the video and realize how much your earning from filming in there property are they entitled to be paid aswell!! just curious about how you deal with any legalities. Great videos tho.
