Hi guys! I have been playing this game for years now, and my students really like it. I add a little variation so I add more than one object (usual markers) so for example, 1 squiz means red, 2 green and 3 blue so we make it a little harder, hope is useful for someone ;)

Please do not play this game with your students. There are soooooooooo many kids that have extreme anxiety and they get sweaty hands (extremely sweaty hands) and will not ever want to come back to church because they are scared to death that a youth leader will ask them to do this. Please just don't! This would be the most HORRIFYING game for young adults with severe anxiety. This is the stuff of nightmares.

Classic Game, always loved it. We play by starting the game, not with a squeeze, but with the flip of the coin. When the coin comes up heads, the first person in their line squeezes and thus starts the passing of the squeeze down to the end of the line; and the game is pretty much the same as in the video. However, if the coin is tails and a false squeeze is given, the team is penalized by loosing a spot in line if they grab the "golden calf". Love your videos, please keep them coming

My church's variation: Use a coin to determine when the squeeze is to be done, Heads is a go, tails is a no. If it lands on heads, squeezes are done and the winning team moves a person. If it lands on tails (which is NOT a squeezing symbol) and any team squeezes and gets to the item, the opposite team gets to move up a person. Makes for a really fun game!!
@YouthMinistryGreatGames7 жыл бұрын
I've definitely seen this variation out there. Ironic thing about flipping a coin for me was that it actually removed the randomness of the squeeze. Our kids got too smart and would know if the coin flipper stopped flipping the coin that they should grab the item. But maybe my kids are just extra competitive and conniving. That might be it.
@aviaaiken-brown97747 жыл бұрын
Oh I can understand that! We just try to flip the coin in silence lol Interestingly we are all from different places ( I'm in Jamaica ) yet we do some of the same things. Much love. God bless.

I suppose it could have been made more obvious by my loud and clumsy coin flipping ;) First commenter from Jamaica! Cool! Blessings!

I was 'shocked' how well this went down with my youth group!! Keep the games coming bro! We had vibe music pumping at the same time, and every time a team one it went into a fun time of dancing and bragging! haha

This is a great game. When I play it, instead of me squeezing the kids hands at the front of the line, I flip a coin. Before I flip I'll call what to squeeze on, heads or tails. Let's say I call "Tails" then flip, if it's tails then the kids at the front of the line squeeze like normal. If it's heads they don't squeeze. I flip until I get a tails and then we rotate. you will gets lots of false squeezes because they squeeze too soon and before they can stop it, their team picks up the object. If the object gets touched on the wrong flip, I deduct points. lots of fun!

Going to try it with a drum or cymbal at the end- whoever hits it first gains a point for their team.

Awesome game! I liked having my group line out along either side of me (so that the whole group was in a straight line, one team on each side of me) and then the object the had to grab was right in front of me. That way they were running and diving to get to the object!

Instead of having the adult hold the kid's hands, consider flipping a coin. If tails, no electricity. If heads, the first person of each team squeezes and sends the electrical current down the line.

californiacurt A lot of folks have liked this! I actually find the squeeze to be more random and discrete than flipping a coin. Plus I’m always a fan of fewer materials needed!
@californiacurt5 жыл бұрын
@@YouthMinistryGreatGames It's just good to have variations in a game. I like the coin because there's no "did you squeeze?" "was that a squeeze?" It's very clear if it's heads or tails. And since everyone else's eyes are closed, it's just as discrete. The sound of the coin even heightens things a bit. I can understand the desire for fewer materials, but it's a coin. Someone will always have a coin to use. I also like to have everyone seated. That may be a good reason for the squeeze. If they are standing, it's hard to see a coin flip on the ground. BTW, great channel. Love what you're doing.

this looks like this game i play with my students called birds of prey. the person at the front of the line of each team will flip a quarter. if its heads they squeeze the hand of the person next to them and they'll pass it down. if its tails then nothing. the team that gets the item first rotates ( the person in front moves to the back). the game ends when the person who started in the front is back at the front.

How do you know they're not cheating?
@YouthMinistryGreatGames5 жыл бұрын
April Adare You can see the squeeze getting passed pretty well. You can also tell when it was a little too fast. It should be close most of the time. Whenever it’s not, either a group wasn’t paying attention and missed it, or the group cheated. Sometimes cheating happens unintentionally when someone adjusts their hand and the next person thought it was a squeeze.
@kenmoser74755 жыл бұрын
So, let me get this straight- you have a group of teens, have them hold hands, the youth leaders squeezes some hands, they then squeeze each other's hands ... and the winner grabs a golden calf ... all in the name of a Christian youth group activity. Is this correct?

Cause it's a very quick, effective and easy way to set up two teams with an equal number of players. You don't need to know the number of players in the group. (By the way, it works if the group number is even. -If odd, the supervisor may have an assistant :).

Abdullah Sheriff the teacher squeeze the hands of 2 students at the SAME time, after they had felt it they squeeze the hand of the person next to him/her. So the other students keep squeezing until the last person of the line feels it. when the last person has her/his hands squeezed they grab the object. That means their time won! (because they felt the reaction fast and quickly did it to the others) Got it?

This would be the most HORRIFYING game for young adults with severe anxiety.
