I just recently bought a Genius X and it looks like Oral-B heard your complaint about the travel case. They "fixed" it by just reverting to a cheap plastic case with no capabilities other than holding the brush and two heads. I also find it a pain to get positioning to match the app. It thinks I am brushing my top teeth when really I am at the bottom. I expect better than this for the price tag. Thank you for your review, it's good to hear I am not the only one with positioning issues.

I don't understand the hype around the charging case. To begin with, it's very seldom when you are away for more than a week. So with 2 weeks of battery charge 2 people can use it for a week during a vacation for example. When i travel i never take my electrical brush with me. I use normal brush. It takes almost no space, i can use it as long as i need, you don't need to worry about chargers or elecrical circuits and most important of all - there will be ABSOLUTELY no issue if it will be dropped, stolen or lost along with the luggage. Travel light and leave electrical brush at home. You will survive couple of days/weeks without it.
@ElectricTeeth3 жыл бұрын
Fair point Anthony. I will always take my electric with me. Only in very rare instances would I take a manual in preference. It ultimately depends on your lifestyle. Some people spend far more time on the road travelling with work etc that the case becomes important to them.

Electric Teeth when using the app should user follow the 6 section breakdown or 4 quadrant breakdown? 4 Quadrant breakdown: 1. Upper left 2. Upper right 3. Lower left 4. Lower right 6 section breakdown: 1. Upper left 2. Upper front 3. Upper right 4. Lower left 5. Lower front 6. Lower right

It is up to the user. Most will follow 4 quadrant approach. Providing all tooth surfaces are cleaned equally over the minute brushing cycle it doesn't really matter. 👍

Hey. Yes, the Genius AI is the same as the Genius X, it is just a different name in Australia. So, the Genius AI means you can get the benefit of the position detection, without have to be stood in front of the camera on your smartphone like you do with the Genius 9000.

I bought a Genius X "Professional Exclusive" from my dentist for about half the price of a Genius X from mainstream vendors like Amazon, Walmart, Best Buy, etc. Do you know if it's the same toothbrush or if there is some noticeable differences? It seems like the only variations I could find are what's included in the package, not the brush itself.
@ElectricTeeth4 жыл бұрын
It is normally the same product. The box contents is usually the difference. Sometimes brands offer discounted models to dentists that they can sell to patients at a good price. Half price is very good!

Great review! Was recommended this toothbrush from my dentist. Price point was fine but don't need all the phone options. The dentist's main concern was that I'm brushing way too hard and major plaque issues. (The "feather" feature, and something to warn me when I'm brushing too hard sounds like the features I need to focus on.) Is there a better toothbrush for my needs that I should invest in? Thanks!

Leah, potentially look at the Oral-B Pro 3000. It has a pressure sensor and sensitive cleaning mode, but is cheaper. Battery life is only 1 week, but it doesn't have lots of features that you might not use.

If you really want the best with all the features, I would suggest the Philips Sonicare DiamondClean Smart. However, you could save around $150 and go for the Sonicare ProtectiveClean 4100, which is still a great brush, but does not have lots of extra features.

What's the difference between "genius x 20400n" and "genius x 10000"? :)
@ElectricTeeth4 жыл бұрын
Hi Hugo. I had not come across the 20400 until you mentioned it. However, I have now discovered this! To answer your question better, can you let me know which country you live in. The 20,400 seems to be a European model whereas the 10,000 is USA version. Essential it is the box contents that really sets them apart.
@hugohoydal45394 жыл бұрын
@@ElectricTeeth Thanks for a quick reply! I live in Denmark and I found the 20400 because I'm in the market for a new electric toothbrush :) I don't really have a budget I just want the best of the best.. And after some light research I found the 20400. Do you recommend anything else with no budget limit? :)
@ElectricTeeth4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the info. So, the Genius X 10,000 is the model primarily sold in the USA. In UK/Europe is the 20,000. The 20,400 is a variant of that. Its the box contents that differs. In Denmark the Genius X 20,000 (Luxe edition) comes with the handle, 4 x brush heads, charging stand and charging travel case. The 20,400 comes with the handle, 2 x brush heads, charging stand, charging travel case and brush head storage compartment. If money is no object, look at the Sonicare DiamondClean Smart. Its Sonicare's equivalent to the Genius X.

@ElectricTeeth2 жыл бұрын
You shouldn't need the specific charger that came in the box to pair with your smartphone. Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app? Make sure you give the app the permissions it requires, such as access to location. If you are still struggling to connect, it could be related to your specific mobile device, but that is unlikely. Could be worth a call to Oral-B to discuss.

Does the app require you to sign up with a username and password? Where is your brushing data saved: on Oral-b's servers or directly on your smartphone? Can you use the toothbrush without the app? Will your brushing data be logged even if you forget to open the app? How do I recycle or donate my old Oral-b electric toothbrush?
@ElectricTeeth4 жыл бұрын
No, the app does not require you to sign up with a username and password if I recall correctly. Data is stored on the phone, unless you create and/or sign into an Oral-B account where a backup of the data is then stored on Oral-B servers. As far as I am aware a copy remains on the phone. It is essentially mirrored to the Oral-B Servers should you move to a different phone for example. Yes, you can absolutely use the toothbrush without the app. You just won't get the real time tracking information as you brush. Some data will be retained by the handle and sync'd to the app should you connect in the future, but this is just basic information such as brushing time. The number of options for recycling your toothbrush is limited. Typically you will need to remove the battery and take it and the handle to a local recycling centre. We have some more information here: www.electricteeth.com/recycling-electric-toothbrush/

@@ElectricTeeth Thanks. Also, can you export your brushing data as a spreadsheet, Jpeg, PDF, or some other file? Or can you share the data with another app such as Apple's Health app? It would be nice to export your data out of the app and put it somewhere else. I also wonder about privacy with our dental data.
@ElectricTeeth4 жыл бұрын
No. There is no method for exporting the brushing data. Maybe if you asked Oral-B directly something could be done, but there is no option within the app. I haven't used the app on iOS, but I am not aware of a method, at this time of exporting the data to other applications. I am sure in time such will be possible.
