Yes, and 60% of the electricity to charge all those EV batteries comes from coal fired power stations. China has 3100 coal fired power stations and another 60 will come on line during the course of 2024, more planned for 2025. Air quality in the huge cities will be better with EVs of course, but the pollution is simply being shifted out into the provinces where Beijing doesn’t care. Out of sight out of mind.

They have a efficiency of 49% that is far greener than the US or European counterpart which has a max efficiency of 35% or less. BTW, if Beijing doesn't care about the rest of China, who does? @@myfreespirit58 China burns a lot of Indonesian and Russian thermal coal, which is cheap but poor quality and gives off high emissions regardless of the technology standard of the power station. Australia sells metallurgical coal to China for steel making. As you correctly said, most Chinese coal fired power stations are of a higher standard than in the US or other countries but the problem is that China had 3100 of them as of Jan 1st 2024 and are building more at an incredible rate. So even though the power stations are of a high standard, the enormous collective emissions output from such a huge number of furnaces cancels out the advantages of the technology.

I would rather have a kia than a relatively unknown chinese brand. Insurers are starting to encourage people to make sure they can get spare parts for the new cars, the next step is they won't insure them if they can't get parts to repair damage. Like this type of car better than Model Y and G6, they are more practical for dogs etc.

Why not? Literally as long as whatever takes 120v (North America) it can power/charge it, the Kia VTL can handle 1900w on each port at the same time

@@DanielBrownOre just can’t find anything on the powerwall website etc, it just says bidirectional charging with “compatible vehicles”. So hoping to get some form of confirmation. I really want to get a single powerwall 3 and a BYD atto and use the attos VTL to add juice to the powerwall over night. We park at home during the day with heaps of excess solar so this would turn the 11kw powerwall into a ~70kw when combined.

Pls do not tell things from hearsay if you do not own a Kia. My EV6 AWD after 54 years of German Premium mostly is TCO-whise the cheapest car besides a Renault R4 in 1971. Here we benefit from 7 years of warranty also. First service after two years now and just half a day for A/C filter and some updates and the cost one third of what we have used to! We also four times changed wheels at our service center from summer to winter etc. Not any problems the first years as usual after the first few kilometers with all the others. Just the perfect new car and we only bought new ones. Nothing to pay for warranty repairs sure but who was paying our time? We also however service our Teslas that we started owning by 2008 here as is mandatory by law for security reason and not to finance stealerships as with BMW or former Mercedes!😂 Even the first Tesla had e.g. a new gearbox from the original, M3 and MY some whisbone issues and badly adjusted fall and track which is a known default of many. So we refined drivetrain on our own. This with the Kia made up by former BMW M-Sport Boss Albert Biermann however was not necessary and we have been on real racetracks not US rediculous 1/4 miles just straight ahead or just in stupid circles 🤪🤡💩💨 But Tesla improves such things for Europeans very fast as we have also some heavy mountain roads unlike California and Silicon Valley!
