The Denver and Rio Grande Western Iron Horse Route is a N Scale model of the prototype railroad owned and maintained by the D&RGW in the early 1950’s. The trip between Denver’s Union Station and Winter Park, Colorado. The line is still in operation today and is referred to as the “Winter Park Express” or the “Ski Train”. The prototype train typically was an ABB unit with a maximum of 14 cars in length. The trip takes about 2 ½ hours and raises in elevation approximately 4,000 linear feet in 45 miles resulting in a minimum grade of 1.7%. The route passes through the famous Moffat Tunnel directly before exiting into Winter Park. The West portal of the Tunnel is located with ½ Mile of the Iron Horse Resort, resulting in the name of the route.

Hi ya Brian and AJ. I’m really digging the whole removable, module element to this diorama. And as an avid watcher of your short videos, I have been interested in your progress. And you are clever, shooting the shorts and the long format video at the same time. I’m kinda glad you decided not to lay in a passing track thru this neighborhood. Whoa! That was some of the most intense vacuuming, ever. Lol. Love the modular 3D printed road sections. This whole diorama is a very good “ showcase “ of some of your 3D printed houses. You need to print out a Lenny on a riding lawnmower. Lol. Even gangsters need to mow their lawn. This is a fine looking new development. But…..you know sleazy developers…….they hardly ever check the land for ancient Indian burial grounds. Just saying……..Okay I’ve done it. Part two in the books. See ya in part three.
