Appreciate the suggestion. I probably could have put a link to it in the interview to make it easy, but I didn't want to use the BI channel to officially promote my personal one. I'll talk to the guys about their thoughts for future events.

Great interview. One thing I realized once I bought and drove an EV daily (Giselle the Ioniq6 AWD 38K North Carolina) is that it can stop on a dime from full speed when it needs to (when you hit the brakes because you have regen braking and friction braking). No one ever mentions that.

"I'm a car guy." Just because you say it five times doesn't make it true. A car guy knows that mashing the accelerator pedal isn't the only thing that makes a car fun and engaging. There's sooooo much more to cars than taking off fast from a stop. Unfortunately, that's mostly what EVs have to offer. I purchased a Model 3 Performance because it seemed like fun, but I quickly got bored because taking off hard from a light was really the only thing fun about the car. So I sold my Tesla and went back to a manual transmission turbo car. That's because I'm actually a car guy.

Agreed, to me, nothing can beat the interactivity of a manual transmission. Every time I hear a reviewer mention "1 pedal driving" I groan, I don't even like 2 pedal driving. For those who hate driving, I can see the appeal. But, for me, EV's aren't interactive enough yet.

The election will matter in the USA this November. Potential cancellation of the benefits of the IRA, not subsidizing battery production, NEVI funding, etc would not be beneficial to the advancement of electric vehicles. Be carefully who you vote for!

I pulled out of buying an EX30 because the central info screen is too small and EVERYTHING is controlled from it (except the side window lifters that are on the central console/ arm rest!) there is no info screen in the driver’s line of sight and there isn’t even the option to spec a HUD. Surprised because Volvo is normally so safety conscious and obviously the bean counters decided that cost cutting outweighs safety in this case. Also some dubious trim quality low down in the cabin.

Right now in America there really isn't any local charging to speak of. All the plugs are on highways where nobody lives so if someone can't charge at home, work, or out running errands they can't consider an EV. I don't see that improving this decade.
