First time hearing an acoustic through the Freeze. Really loved the Indian-Raga lead melodies you played during the intro to Norwegian Wood. Seriously, that was Hendrix beautiful, each note alive & moving like a snake. Good going! Cheers from across the pond.

@@lewisforemanmusicYou certainly would have something to 'say' in my humble opinion. If you ever feel like checking out something different, take a listen to percussionist Zakir Hussain‘s 1987 record 'Making Music' with John McLaughlin on guitar and Jan Garbarek on sax and Hariprasad Chaurasia on flute. I’d wish it had one more 'rough' song on it, but for me it always has been the perfect East meets West Album. 👋🏻👳🏻♂️

Pretty cool effect, but the synthesized sustain tone sounds consistently like a harmonium/accordion in all the demos I’ve heard, no matter what instrument it’s used with, and that limitation could get very monotonous in a gig. I think if you were adept with your foot and had a bit of practice you could use a loop pedal to similar effect and not be limited to the same drone sound in every song.
@lewisforemanmusic3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for taking the time to comment. Ultimately, it's a drone pedal. Yes, the sound is similar to an accordion but I'm pretty happy with that. What would you prefer? I've been using loop pedals for 15+ years and the freeze pedal just does something different quickly that a loop just wouldn't do. Thanks again for taking the time.

@tunaficiency4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for that I was very disappointed with this to start I wanted to use it with my trio in effect to play chords then improvise play melody over the top but it only seems to work 50% of the time if your quickly changing chords possibly because you have to play the chord just before pressing the pedal, anyway the sy-1 synth pedal actually works a lot better as afreeze pedal ( I prefer the freeze pedal sound ) so I’ll use the freeze pedal like you on latch for intro / outro and the sy-1 for times when I have to comp and solo ( nice playing )

Well it’s different, oceans only sustain the reverb not your actual notes and the volume is depend on your mix knob. Freeze took your note and sustain it and the sound is little bit like organ. It’s a fun pedal but not really useful if u already have keys in ur band, if u have the cash then go for it!
