Love the way.. how you add the Potentiometer on the side.. That's a really neat man! for a non techy guy... 👌

1st thing when i bought it (on my other set up I have a cry baby) I noticed it was exeedingly raunchy, sounding high and mid....and 2nd thing was to look on here, and I found this. Love it, Kudos to you!!!! Thanks very much. maybe it ought to be suggested to EH????

Genius.A wah pedal that can be adjusted

Can you put a led on it for when it gets engage?

I have that wah, suddenly the sweep is malfunctioning 😕 I hope I can fix it I really liked the sound, but most pedals these days are not made to last...

Came here looking for a mod.....That you didn't address, figured here was as good as any place to ask.... The weight doesn't bother me..The volume gain doesn't really bother me...But am I the only one who hates the switch? Granted I'm a little heavy footed...But the thing goes...click click click!!!! Everytime I use it.. (Not engaging or disengaging the switch) There seems to be a lot of play in the switch (spring?) It click clacks like crazy... Do I have a defective unit? Could I swap out the switch for a higher quality one? Never had this issue on any other wah... I love the sound of the wailer...but light compression on the switch makes an ungodly noise when playing at nominal volume.

Mine does the same. It's why I don't use it as much as I would like to.
@TealScarab4 жыл бұрын
Same here, mine makes a big click when turned on. I often find it a little bit difficult to turn on while sitting down, but personally none of these are dealbreakers for me.

Google ehx pulldown resistor. Lots of ehx switches are noisy. Add 1 resistor from switch to ground and it slices noise down 90%+

Thanks Adam, I have since replaced the 10k with a 2k pot. Much more resolution to find the sweet spot. I've also noticed that depending on the amp being used, the loudness of the effect varies, so with a 2k pot I can adjust on the fly.
@icaboy7 жыл бұрын
Ed Littman I built a small voltage drop box. I can now adjust the voltage on mine from 0 volts all the way up to 18. In effect it has allowed me to actually use this while in a live situation. I keep it around 7 volts and it seems to work pretty good.

Cool. I realized the added potentiometer was draining the battery. I guess through ground. So I added a spst switch off of one of the battery wires. so far no unwanted drain.
@edbauer87907 жыл бұрын
great job....thanks for the idea....I'm gonna do the same👍
@littmuze7 жыл бұрын
Make sure you use a 2k pot & install a SPST switch on one of the added battery wires. I used a cheap pot with attached switch. The battery will drain without the switch

Great job man!! doest it work if you use another power suply or only with battery?
@littmuze5 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Only a battery since the mod is actually clipped on to the battery strap.
@Aetchyfg575 жыл бұрын
@@littmuze could it be wired to the 9V input ?
@littmuze5 жыл бұрын
Possibly so, the circuit board components an solder joints are so small you'd have to really work hard for that.
@Aetchyfg575 жыл бұрын
@@littmuze so there is atleast a chance. But whats the difference the current from a battery or current from the PSU anyway, couldnt i just solder a 9V connector to the battery input ?
@montag45164 жыл бұрын
The is a small box available called the Dying Bat. You put it between a 9v power supply and an effect pedal. It allows you to cut down the power supply voltage to whatever level you want. Commonly used to replicate a bias control on fuzz boxes, this might have the same results on a way pedal as well, although I don't have a way pedal to try it on.
@maripido7 жыл бұрын
so it's not a true analog pedal? Or are these "digital chips" just used for control (similar to a Nova Drive where digital tech is used to control the parameters but it's an all-analog distortion circuit)? Appreciate your reply in advance.
@littmuze7 жыл бұрын
As far as I know this is a full analog path. The resisters are very small spot soldered on a printed circuit board. Not designed for any parts replacement.

i think i made a mistake buying this wha wha, it affects the signal chain in bad way because adds so much noise, the hum is big in off mode, is very rare to me.
@tezfestival40092 жыл бұрын
You’re right. Unusable with any gain playing live due to noise. But clean as a whistle going into a DAW. Will be getting a proper wah :)

I'm here because of EHX.
@eduardomasonfuentes32743 жыл бұрын
EHX has earned some reputation already, and the unit is so cheap... just like a fine dinner with a nice girl you are trying to impress... Said that, I did not pay too much attention to the problem... If the thang is it rises the volume when switched on, you can always use that as an affect, or just keep it in mind and use your volume and attack... If the problem is the unit is too light, well put some weight at the botton or add more rubber little feet... I use Budah wah and usually get rid of the back left side rubber thang... So, the only problem I see is how can we make understand my namesake pal Ed, to get rid of the white part of his beard... And f#%& political correction...
