Ironically I don't think it's ever been featured in a Dracula movie (if I recall correctly). It was used in several early horror movies like Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (1931) and The Black Cat (1934). The song's seeming ability to evoke underlying terror solidified it as a horror movie trope very early in cinema history. By 1950, the movie Sunset Boulevard was already using it as a joking reference to the horror genre. However, it was most famously featured in the 1962 adaptation of The Phantom of the Opera, which firmly established it in people's minds as a horror/suspense theme.
