The History Lesson is such a great delay! And goes great with the fuzz with some clean blended in! You're demos are so creative!

The Pigpile is by far my favorite harmonic perc circuit! Articulates so well, even more so if run at 18v. That’s the secret no one seems to know/explore with Electrofoods pedals: they ALL can run at 18v or higher! Great demo as usual, now excuse me while I run my Lil’ Pig through a uni-vibe! It most certainly is Adventure Time 😉

Great demo, Meg. 👍 All drive pedals should have a 'blend' knob in my opinion. Why should bassists have all the fun??

Can’t stand blends on overdrives. Make a good overdrive and you don’t need one?!

I agree a blend control on any pedal is an added bonus whether you use it or not, there’s many times I’d rather be able to have some drive etc and be able to dial in the amount of clean tone I require, not all of use like to have a full on maxed out drive, fuzz, distortion, compression, etc, I personally have the opinion when producing and engineering music in the studio that a lot of the time that less is more and can just work and sound better, not all the time obviously but many times I really don’t need to have shit loads of effect to have a nice, creative, coloured, effective, characterful instrument timbre, just adding small amounts of various effects nicely colours, layers and adds different dimensions to the overall tone and works a lot better overall for me and my band productions.

Awesome sounds. Funny how in just the past couple of days I have spent a lot of time playing a perculator-style pedal through my Vox. (In my case it was a Fredric Effects Utility Perkolator into a Vox NT15.)

Perculator pedals have easily become one of my favorite types of fuzzes in recent months. They sound awesome through a Vox don't they? Someday I'd love to try the Frederic Effects one, that's the first one I remember hearing about!

The tune that starts at 1:40 is great! Do you have originals with a band on Spotify (or vinyl)? I’d like to take a listen.

Megan I think you have one of the best pedal reviews on youtube you really show how a pedal can sound in multiple situations... But can you switch back to the Fender Princeton amp... The Fender is a more neutral amp so you can hear how the pedals will react and then you can kinda figure out how it will react with a amp you own. With the Vox it adds to much of that Vox thin shrill icepick brightness that are voxs to hear how the pedal actually sounds (and I own and tour sometimes with a AC30 so its not so much shit talking the amp its just its not a good demo platform)
@MeganL3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the compliment! As for the amp, I definitely plan on going back to the Princeton, and I agree it’s a much better platform for a wider variety of pedals. It’s been in need of new tubes for a while and making crackling noises which is why I’ve been using the Vox. Gotta go bring it in, then it’ll be back as the standard again :)

@@MeganL The bright cap in the AC30 and AC15 tend too make most overdrive/fuzz/distortions sound really shrill and fizzy... The only pedal I can get to sound good with the AC30 is a rat or something that was designed for the AC30 like the Hotcakes.

You rock! Unfortunately the “fizz” in all you’re vids make it hard to listen to on all of my devices. Bummer. Cheers!
@deadoctopi50703 жыл бұрын
I have this issue too through “devices” unless those are headphones or my desktop monitors. KZbin’s compression and fizz retention blow, but every demo channel really opens up when you’re not listening through speakers with drivers smaller than a fingernail. 🤷🏻♂️
@MeganL3 жыл бұрын
Hmm this is the first time I'm hearing of this. Is the fizz still there through headphones? Also is it present in a few videos back where I was using the princeton instead of the vox (or maybe its all my vids)? Tryna figure out if it's youtube/device playback, my recording situation, some gear, or maybe my ears tune it out 'cause its what I'm used to lol. I haven't noticed anything myself so just curious! Thanks!
@deadoctopi50703 жыл бұрын
@@MeganL Can’t speak for mike up there but it’s probably youtube, as I’ll get pretty “tinny” playback on some channels, typically channels with, no surprise, some higher gain fuzz somewhere in the mix. But my monitors downstairs? Airpods? Sounds good to me 🤷🏻♂️ - Also sounds fine using headphones with my phone or tablet, sounds good, not as “full” as my studio monitors, but that’s to be expected. Haven’t noticed a big shift in the vids, so if you’re using a different amp, it hasn’t affected my viewing. 🤔
@jerrylindoln63433 жыл бұрын
Im not getting any "Fizz" from the videos only whats produced from the amp. Crap speakers can fizz out. I use crappy speakers when doing a final mastering on digital versions of songs cause some frequencies tend to crap out tiny cheap speakers easily and since most people listen to music on cheap speakers now its better to just dial out those frequencies for digital playback and then if someone wants full spectrum either buy the record or Ill send them a proper Wav file.
