3mm for the powered lock. 5mm for the central fixing on the magnet.

What happen if LED remains red even when the door is locked? I have 2 locks. One of them, green LED is never lighted up when door is closed.

Mostly likely the Emergency Door Release has been activated, this prevents the lock from being used again until reset. kzbin.info/www/bejne/b3yUnJxqjciforM -- You might find this video helpful.
