V1 feels like a character that has just become a superhero and is learning what their powers are and how to use them. Compared to later versions, it feels like the character is somewhat clumsy, like it’s showing that the character is young and new to it. V2 feels like the character has figured their powers out. Towards the end of the song, they realize their full potential. V3 feels like the climatic battle for the character. They trained and can now take on anything.

Here's my concept for an animation for this video: The animation is drawn frame-by-frame in six main bold colors: Black, violet, blue, red, yellow, and white, similar to the color scheme of this video. [ INTRO ] 0:00 - An overhead shot of a crime scene in a city at night, full of police cars and yellow tape. Cut to a shot of the same scene from ground level. Zoom in. The dead body of a businessman can be seen, covered in strange black gashes and surrounded by black dust, with parts of the body withered and blackened. 0:07 - Cut to a live TV broadcast of the event, with the crime scene in the background. Scrolling text below reads, "Supernatural forces implicated in murder of HoloCorp employee at 24th and Arc St..." Zoom out. The TV broadcast is being shown on one of an array of screens in ALEX TROY's hideout. Alex is dozing off in a swivel chair in front of the screens as an alarm blares and a red light flashes to the beat of the music. 0:13 - Suddenly, Alex wakes up in confusion. He studies the screen intently and then gets up from his swivel chair and strides toward the camera. Several close-up shots of him putting on the parts of his suit are shown, the chestplate sparking with electricity as he fastens it to his body. He scans the area using the sensors in his helmet which reveals a path of dark energy leading from the crime scene into a nearby alley. 0:45 - Electroman jumps down into the alley and begins tracing the energy signature. 0:55 - He glimpses a silhouette of a mysterious figure in the alley, who quickly rounds a corner and disappears from sight. 0:59 - Electroman stalks the mysterious figure through the alley, occasionally catching glimpses of them as they duck around corners. Eventually, he has cornered the figure in front of a locked metal gate, and they turn to face him. [ BRIDGE ] 1:09 - Electroman turns on the broken overhead light in the alley by zapping it with an electric bolt, revealing the mysterious figure as a man with jet black hair wearing round welding goggles, a black trenchcoat, black boots, an oversized black belt work belt stuffed with various gadgets, shiny purple gauntlets on his hands, and an evil grin on his face. It's DR. ABYSS, a member of the DOOM FEDERATION and Electroman's arch nemesis. 1:11 - A comic-style narration box appears. "So we meet again, ELECTROMAN..." Flashbacks from Electroman's past appear in comic panels surrounding him, showing him and his father running from the Doom Federation, and later, when they had captured his father, Dr. Abyss approaching Electroman's father chained in a prison cell with a syringe of black liquid... Then Electroman, finding his father's body in an alley much like this one, withered and blackened... Animated colors and patterns surround the panels, growing more and more intense... Alex's face is shown inside the helmet, darkening into a face of fury. "DR. ABYSS... I won't let you get away this time!" [ BUILD UP ] 1:40 - By the time he says this, Dr. Abyss has already turned to run, vaulting over the gate. Electroman gives chase and runs after Dr. Abyss through the alleys and out onto the city streets, using his electric powers to glide along telephone lines like ziplines. Meanwhile, Dr. Abyss is summoning a cloud of inky blackness around him. 1:52 - As they reach the rooftops, the animation turns into a series of still comic panels layering over each other to the beat of the music, showing Electroman parkouring over the rooftops as Dr. Abyss weaves left and right to try and lose him. [ CHORUS ] 2:06 - The comic effect ends, and Dr. Abyss turns to fight Electroman. It's powers-vs-powers now as the two are locked in close-range combat. Electroman fires lightning bolts at Dr. Abyss, which he dodges. Electroman rushes in and summons electric swords in his hands, taking swings at Dr. Abyss which he blocks with small clouds of black fog he summons in front of him. Dr. Abyss returns the onslaught by unleashing flying robots from his gadget belt, which fire beams of darkness at Electroman, forcing him to dodge, no longer in melee range. Dr. Abyss turns and jumps the gap to the next building. Electroman follows... [ BRIDGE 2 ] 2:32 - Cut to a slow motion shot from diagonally below of Electroman mid-leap as he tackles Dr. Abyss in midair. The camera zooms out to street level, showing the regular citygoers gazing up in awe at the two fighters, as a lighting bolt splits the rainy sky behind them... 2:43 - The slow motion ends, Electroman lands in a roll on the roof of the building, disengaging from Dr. Abyss. Dr. Abyss is thrown forward and lands in a three point landing, skidding backwards to a stop as he faces Electroman. He glances at the walls of the building behind him to his left and right, and then looks back at Electroman, realizing he is cornered. Electroman has begun to charge with electricity, forming a sparking aura around him. 2:53 - The camera zooms out as lightning is sucked down from the clouds above into his body, lighting up the city and charging his power. A wide shot shows the city lights blacking out in a circle expanding from where Electroman is standing as all the electricity in the city is channeled into his body. 3:01 - Electroman is fully charged. A sphere of light has formed around him. [ GRITTY GUITAR SOLO ] 3:07 - Electroman releases the electricity in a giant energy beam towards Dr. Abyss. Cut to an overhead shot of the energy beam lighting up the city around them. Cut to a close-up of Dr. Abyss; he tries to block the attack with a shield of darkness, but the electricity is burning through it little by little. Close-up shots of both character's faces are shown, straining with effort. Eventually, the shield fails, and Dr. Abyss is electrocuted in the classic cartoon style (skeleton showing and all that.) 3:28 - As he is electrocuted, a heart monitor overlay on the screen shows Dr. Abyss's heartbeat going haywire and he slumps down, seemingly dead. [ VERSE 2 ] 3:30 - The energy beam dissipates. Cut to a close-up of Electroman's head--whatever emotion he might be feeling is unreadable through the helmet. Electroman picks up Dr. Abyss's body and jumps down to street level, once again gliding along telephone lines toward the Doom Federation building. 3:42 - Electroman reaches the Doom Federation building and walks toward the front door. Cut to security camera footage shown in shades of red, zooming in and locking on Electroman. Cut back to the outside shot; machine guns appear out of panels in the building and begin firing at Electroman, which he easily deflects with his powers. He lays Dr. Abyss's body on the front steps of the building and turns to walk away. 3:54 - Slowly zooming out close-up diagonally overhead shot of Dr. Abyss's body on the steps of the Doom Federation building. A sticky note pasted on his lab coat reads, "Cleaned up the SMOG for you. - ELECTROMAN" 4:00 - Cut to a floor-level shot of Electroman dramatically walking away from the steps of the Doom Federation building, striding toward and past the camera, his boots sparking on the asphalt... [ SONG ENDS ] 4:05 - A lightning effect crosses the screen and it goes black. [ SILENCE ] 4:10 - Cut back to Dr. Abyss's body lying on the steps of the Doom Federation building. A small spider-like robot whirs to life out of his gadget belt, holding a syringe of black liquid. It slowly crawls up Dr. Abyss's body until it reaches his neck, where it injects the syringe into his neck. Dr. Abyss's body begins to stir, and his eyes open, now pure black.

I love the inclusion of acoustic instruments in this song, especially the string instruments. When used right, the music can feel grander and have a meatier beat drop. And I'll say, they were damn well used right.

Holy shit the heavinesss of the guitars. The metalhead in me is thrilled. I've been listening to V2 for a long time, but wow V3 is a masterpiece. Waterflame, you genius, it sounds like you're actually fighting Electroman in his most badass form, in a Doom game! I'm in awe, man.
