@electrodacus Thanks for your comments. Perhaps I did not make that clear but I purchaed the 43b specifically for AC power consumption measurment. I also wanted the flexibiltiy of being able to use it for DC work which most of the other power analsers don't do.

@shawnsaf Ok, so here I was implying the measurment of DC power i.e. current. If you have the average current consuption and note the time you measure it over you can multiply by the voltage to get power consumption. I have another video explaining this: "Electronic measurement equipment and multimeters - Part 5: Min Max Average". It can also be used for AC power as long as the load is resistive i.e. Power Factor of 1. Household power supply in South Africa is billed by consumption not demand.

@shawnsaf Yes, it can record / log about 3 parameters simultaneously.

I just missed out on the chance on getting a used in great condition Fluke 43B on the cheap so now I am considering settling for the Fluke 41B. I have a laptop with a serial port that I can use but what I have been trying to find out (without luck) is if the Fluke View software for the 41B compatible with Windows 7 64 bit?
