I’m 64, my husband and adult kids think I’ve lost my mind listening to Ren and reactions. I keep telling them, just wait, he’s going to change the music industry and he has. I discovered him back in the Covid days in 2020 with “Hi REN”. I could relate to him, went three years misdiagnosed with CRPS. The kid kept me sane I swear. I’ll be a fan forever.

No, Ren’s originally from North Wales, but he is based in the city of Brighton on the south-east coast of England, although at the moment he is in Canada getting medical treatment.

So this one isn’t actually his own beat but him having fun rapping over a remixed version of Fisher’s Losing It. Ren has a few of these “retakes” on his channel that he did for fun and his love of music. So this one as well as Foo Fighters - All My Life, The Verve - Bittersweet Symphony, Fatboy Slim - Right Here, Right Now, and SBTRKT - Wildfire. But usually, yes, Ren produces his own beats. And it definitely allows him to make it fit just right with his words and flows to be in charge of every detail of the songs. If you want more EDM, he has one on the new album called Down On The Beat feat. Viktus. But if you want a completely different side of Ren, please check out Crutch feat. Bibi. Yeah, the fact that he can take someone else's beat and manipulate it to fit his will is just sick. It displays how versatile he really is because it is easier to make it sound the way you want it to when you produce your own beats. Of course, producing your own beats is an amazing talent as well. I don't know if there's anything he can't do, musically. He's proficient on piano, a beast on guitar, beat boxes, produces, writes, sings, raps and everything in between, his vocal range is sick, and he can act, too. He's a creative monster.

Heard you say, "Is he allowed to do that?", meaning film in the subway. The answer is NO. Before MG PT. 3 Ren was never able to spend more than 1,000 pounds ($1,200 - ish) on a video. Most cost closer to 100 and some cost nothing. He's been thrown out of spaces filming HI REN, BLIND EYED (FEATURING ANGRY CAR PARK ATTENDANT) and WHAT YOU WANT. In an interview someone asked him how he chooses locations for his videos. "I look for lax security." was his answer. -And don't worry about pausing. People will complain no matter what.

Yep all the Ren fans smiling saying "that is our Ren". 😁 He was just born different than the average musician, his mind works different than the rest and he is able to show how it works through music. A good example, Ren could explain colors to a blind person so they could actually see the colors.

@@Kazilla. Here is a fact and I know we all agree. Even if 6 months ago, we would have said, “Reactors, don’t pause so much!” But Ren has changed that outlook. We’ve all seen dozens and hundreds of reactions and the true fans don’t care about if it’s paused. We only care if Ren evokes the same emotions in them as it does for us!!

Great Reaction! The thing with Ren is that his lyrics are all interconnected by rhyme, alliteration, allusion, innuendo, etc. but often with references to pop culture, music, movies and literature as well. He calls back to his previous songs and he relates it all through story telling that incorporates his personal struggle with physical and mental illness. "Don, I'm the king of the bongo, the Bongo Bong, And I'm flipping the shit like a swanton bomb" Ren has a cover the song "Bongo Bong" which you should check out. Ren uses the "swanton bomb" reference in several songs and some people get the Jeff Hardy wrestling reference, but fewer people know that it was Joe that impressed Ren as kids by jumping off the back of a sofa performing a swanton bomb falling flat on the floor only to get up and do it again. I suspect that there is personally meaning to many of his bars that we do not appreciate. Don't know who Joe is? Watch "Freckled Angles", "Suicide" and "For Joe".

After analyzing the lyrics and visuals of this song for a few months, I've come to the conclusion that there are two possible ways to interpret this song. The first one is that this is a commentary on our cultural delusion that surface appearances (i.e., facades) are more important than inward realities. Ren is telling us that we must look inward before looking outward in order for us to see things as they truly are. When Ren is standing next to the gorilla (his alter ego), whose eyes is he looking through? His or the ape's? The ape represents the "natural" way of experiencing life, while Ren represents the human, rational/irrational way of experiencing life. The second interpretation is that Ren is saying, "F*** it! I just wanna have a good time flexing, playing with words, switching flows, raising a few eyebrows, and getting people up on the dance floor!" In this interpretation, the gorilla is just a prop for amusement purposes.

He is at hospital/clinic 5days a week for medical treatment. Been there since Jan of 2023. He hoped to be back in Brighton, UK after 3mos, but..... as life goes he now hopes to be able to return in the early months of 2024. Almost 10 years Undiagnosed Lyme Disease has ravaged his body and life. Just the general public. Its better to as forgiveness than ask permission. So far until Money Game 3. His video locations were just "found" and used. And sometimes he was booted out....

Yes, he produces all of his music. This young man is multi-talented, he plays multiple instruments (guitar, piano, bass, drums), raps with the best of them, beat-boxes, sings, produces, writes and mixes all his own music, makes his own beats, directs all of his videos, and writes all of his own lyrics.
