The synths have this warmth that wraps around you, like memories from a perfect summer evening you can’t quite place but can still feel. It’s peaceful but also slightly bittersweet, as if it’s reminding you of something beautiful that's just out of reach. I’d probably sit back, close my eyes, and let it carry me through old memories and daydreams, feeling both relaxed and reflective. It’s like time slows down, and for a few minutes, you’re in this serene, timeless place.

For the longest time I had this song playing on my speaker every morning for several months after a really bad breakup. It gave me the strength I needed to get myself out of bed, get dressed and start the day. I had it timed so perfectly that by the end of the song I'd reach my bedroom door and be out the door to get my mail and head out for the day. The entire time while doing all that I'd reflect on my happiest moments, milestones in my youth and the things I had to look forward to. It's amazing how much music can save someone at their weakest point, I hope others who dealt with similar things get by. You matter too and life still goes on, don't let the good times end and keep on going.

"An usual day in the outer ring for a delivery guy like me. At least the radio is still working here, thanks to the new technologie we discovered when finding the monolythe. Humanity became one of the most prolific race out there, after this event in 2995. Our new friends, the Wojuuns, seems to really like our culture, and we also really like their own. Ironically, Kitaj is the guy who made me discover this radio when I was a little boy. He is a Wojuun, and a damn curious one. On SpaceR, our galactic radio, they broadcast a lot of human music, and some Yzonn music aswell. Funny thing I discovered tons of good human music, thanks to a Wojuun. About the Yzonn, they originated extremely far away in the galaxy, near the conjuction of EZT.12-87. But still, their music is really similar to ours. We often say that music is maths in a way, and maths is present everywhere. Maybe music is one way of the universe to speak. Species with similar minds can then feel it in the same way. Music allows us to create bonds, in our hearts and beyond the stars. I will have the opportunity to meet the Yzonns soon, when the current cycle will end, in about 2 months in the human calendar. I'll have to record everything I listen on the radio because it will be the longest road I ever did and the radio waves can't reach this system. This is also the subject of my trip : I need to deliver to their system, a beacon that will help relaying the radio waves, so they can listen to it at the edge of the galaxy. I can't wait to see their reaction, when they will see that we already broadcast some of their creations, and that it's really loved around the stars. Human and Yzonn will surely collaborate more in the futur, like we did with the Wojuun. Until then, we still have a lot to do in our own systems, to prepare their arrival. "

Isn’t funny how one song holds many different memories from thousands of different people with different emotions.
@DonWalkerProductions2 жыл бұрын
I think it has to do with the fact that many of the songs like this are built around old synth instruments or files that were used in the late 70's throughout the 80's. This sort of music was extremely popular for commercials and such, and was sort of underground. I think it's nostalgic because people who were born after 1995 - 2006 had probably seen VHS tapes as a child with this sort of music on it. I am very certain that there was a VHS I borrowed from the library as a kid and it has this type of music on it.

@@DonWalkerProductions The closest thing to this song I have heard as a child is Pina Colada (Escape), and I was born in 2006 - yet still, this song makes me a bit nostalgic. I think it has to do mostly with the feel this song has. Its calming, fading in and out and has no clear structure or consistency yet has absolutely no surprises - which is exactly how childhood memories feel to everyone. To me its a train ride in Europe on rainy day, because I'm from Israel and until the pandemic we would visit Europe every summer.

Helen Paschke - It’s easier when they die because you have total closure, it’s the friends and family we lose touch with that are still alive that creates the most pain and confusion. One must separate resentment from reasoning and remember to not take alienation and negativity towards ourselves personally. When a loved one acts untoward it’s about them and what’s happening inside that has made them become this way. Give them time and space, let them heal, you heal, grow, become wiser, more resilient and when the time is right things will happen again. And always be the bigger person and make that contact should you feel the need to because if you wait to be contacted, you could be there for eternity.

I really think the 90s nostalgia is more powerful because it’s the last era before the internet. The internet changed the world more than anything in previous human history. The 80s and early 90s were the golden era of the last century, and shit seems to be going downhill this century lol. I know the song came out in 2014 but everyone seems to agree it’s got an 80s-90s vibe

yea it hurts me too, but it kinda heals me to thinking of how relaxing it was.

I can at the very least, hope that in some way, the styles of future decades will mirror their counterparts from a century before. In short, I hope the 2080's look like the 1980's.

@@bungscrung3337 Honestly, as much as I might wish for this, the world is taking a path that suggests it will be a far different place by the time gen z have reached retirement, let alone getting into their 70s 80s and 90s. For all we know, maybe fallout isn't that far from the truth. Only time will tell. And by then, I doubt youtube will even be a thing, and if it is, this video won't be there, it may have been re-uploaded, or lost to the sands of time. As for us? We will have forgotten that we ever made these comments or will forget about the song when we lose the playlist it was in and be reminded of it by some bar in some city of mirrors, and we will try to find it again, and maybe even see our old comments. That is not for us mere mortals to know, its not our place. What happens will happen, whether or not that's what we wanted from life.
