ADDITIONAL SAFETY INFORMATION: Compressor must be on level ground, and the oil level(Using what I showed in the video) must not be above the center of the red bullseye when in use, otherwise you risk having small amounts of oil end up in your discharge line. If odors are still detected in the air supply, leave the large white filter in place at the inlet, but fill the entire large filter with activated carbon. My testing has shown you can fill the tank at least 3x before any moisture makes it past the white filter. The moisture beads are not really needed, replace the white filter and felt pad every 3 fills. Test breathe air from cylinder one fill and make sure no headaches or dizziness before using underwater. Stay safe!

I was a SCBA tech. All the of our Breathing Air compressors had oil for lube. It was a special formulation of oil. The air went through special filters before going into the cascade bottle system. The Air had to be sampled and then sent to the lab every 6 months to be tested for contamination.

Thanks for the video and info! It's always nice to get a surprise Patches cameo!

Oil in the system would be a big concern for me.

very interesting. I dont know who I got here but it was interesting. thanks.

You can regenerate those molecular sieve beads, just put them in a low oven for like 8 hours.

I have never gone scuba diving, but if I did, this was my worry about using compressed air and having a contaminant in the air supply.

I bought one of these from Vevor and it is locked up on arrival. Yes I put Amsoil in it and followed all instructions. It seems that the compressor is locked up no pressure. I tried contacting them through customer after sales service and I can't send the form without adding and attachment. Can't send jpeg so I don't know what to do there. I then went to their chat and told someone what was going on and they said they would send me an email. 2 days and no email. I get plenty of emails from them wanting to sell me stuff! This is the first thing I bought from them that has had a problem and will probably be the last thing I buy since the contacting them is such a problem.

@@lloydprunier4415 Did you replace the piece of plastic where you fill the oil with the included vent?
@lloydprunier44153 күн бұрын
@@electronicsNmore The vent plug was already installed. This is why I'm thinking they sent me a returned compressor and didn't test it. When I first tried to order they were out of stock then about 2 days later they had it in stock. The communications with them are terrible. Why they have to have an attachment in the form for service makes no sense to me. Especially since it has to be in a different format than I have to send it. The compressor never rotated when I turned it on. I took the fan off and used a adjustable wrench on the shaft with the flat side and it took all my strength to get it to almost turn one revolution.

Open the cylinder and clean it out or fill and purge it upside down three + times.
@electronicsNmoreАй бұрын
I actually opened the cylinder, took distilled water with a little bit of Dawn soap shook it around to clean any residue, then rinse with distilled water, then 90% alcohol inside shook it around and allowed it to drain and dry

better filter than your first vid,,,i would feel safer,,but still never a oil comp. to breath,, its your life
@electronicsNmoreАй бұрын
There are many dive shops that have oil compressors
@palmerreising3387Ай бұрын
I would suggest being exceptionally leery of breathing air from that compressor even with a "food grade" oil. I suspect that even edible oil could cause grave problems if inhaled in quantities. Atomized oil, apparently coats alveoli and prevents transpiration. Do not risk your life to save 25.00.
@electronicsNmoreАй бұрын
Apparently there's no atomization of the oil because if you watch the entire video, you would have seen that I discharged the entire tank and swabbed the inside of the mouthpiece zero traces of any residue

warning do not set the bottle in water why if it does explode.. you create plastic shards as well as trippled the power of the explosion because the water does not compress leave it outside 50 feet away from anything preferably surrounded by a brick wall etc all 4 sides never walk away from it... always have a way to shut off the compressor ie pull the plug etc
@campandcook3118Ай бұрын
The bottle is usually tested for 4/3 of the rated pressure. 300 bar for 200 bar tanks, 400 for 300 bar tanks, even if only used for 200-250bar.
@electronicsNmoreАй бұрын
Correct. Test pressure is 300 bar for the tank that I only filled to 200 bar

second adcive dont use cheap chinese units use usa manfactured ones.. and always test your tanks every 5 years etc etc always replace orings per manfacture specso you send it to a shop for this for certification
