Looks like the customer may have shorted something to that capacitor while the laptop was on, causing the burn on the PCB.

I am still a student studying in this field, and I have learned a lot from here and there, especially from this wonderful professor, many things. Here I want to know how to operate the laptop through the power supply. I have tried a lot and it did not work!! I hope someone will answer me. Regards

An ESD discharge likely can kill the PCH and/or the SSD.

Hi Sorin, is it possible that the customer tried to install a M2 drive to substitute the SATA one, without powering off the notebook touching the track (that little flamed track), burning the first capacitor and the chip?

Very good. Personally, I would have fitted a new cap as it would probably have been the higher value one. I'm sure Arnie would have been less concerned with the alien pronounced your way, ho, ho. Pronounce with a double d for added menace.
@CaribbeanParadise-cn3sy4 ай бұрын
Thats an interesting debate, where would he connect the ' right hand side ' but as Sorin says. No capacitor, no blown capacitor...lol
@ralphj40124 ай бұрын
@@CaribbeanParadise-cn3sy Only pointed out because the other small cap is probably for high frequency noise, whereas the larger cap is probably for spikes, surges etc and may have prevented the chipset blowing when whatever happened happened. Yes, an issue of where to connect it, but easily within Sorin's skillset.

Was wondering why on certain chips you cant just add solder to the board and chip to resolder vs reballing just the chip. Haven't gotten any channel to respond on this question yet. Thanks for the video brother

I swear some brands have the worst designs ever. The power doesn't even know where it's going, blowing up everything in the way. - Don't even get me started on the circus act of Apple.
