Thanks for the video! It would have been nice to get an actual comparison of the thermal performance when soldering, we just see it warms up faster but I'd be interested in knowing how that actually translates when soldering, apart from "you can see it has double the power". :)
@ecka3334 жыл бұрын
You said that soldering iron heat-up time is 8 sec. You could try to turn on the iron and melt your solder or try to solder any part after 8 seconds. That would be a visible proof of fast heating time.

And when you will be surprising us presenting the portable solder iron v4 (usb type c, capability for burn bootloader directly maybe some other features left?)
@xaytana4 жыл бұрын
I'm tempted to buy one of these, but I'm also curious what the USB 4 spec gives us in terms of power, as laptops are now using Type C for charging (see Apple's monstrosity of a 96W charger that uses Type C), and how quickly a USB 4 version of this comes out. If USB 4 has provisions from USB-IF for 96W throughput to be within the spec, that could greatly impact the portable soldering iron market. The TS100 max wattage was what, 64W, or something? It'd be amazing if the successor to the TS80, with all of it's updated features, ran off of 96W, or whatever the USB 4 spec gives us; it'd even be rivaling soldering stations at that point.
@ivanyu88804 жыл бұрын
Is this worth getting over the TS100? I'm new to soldering and don't really know what I should be looking for. If you guys have any other recommendations, that would be great also! $80 is pretty much the max of my budget tho.

If I plug it in mobile charging adaptor then will it take 12V from that? (From quick charge feature) I mean that does it have chip to request 12V from adaptor?

Yes, it has a chip to negociate voltage using the USB-PD protocol.

As i understand it, the ts80 only works with QC2.0 (9V-2A) (18W) the TS80p can work with QC2.0 (9V-2A) or PD (12V -2.5A ) (30W)
@haves_4 жыл бұрын
have you tried using USB Power Delivery module? im trying to build a lithium charger using usb and seems like USB power delivery is the way to go to achieve more than 12V 2A from a 5V source (power banks/chargers)

Depinde de puterea și tensiunea care o bagi la întrare. De exemplu dacă bagi la întrare 24 de v si sursa are o putere de 1 amper. Este egal cu o putere de 24 w. Dar în rest este o alegere buna ca statie .

Vary nice. More money then I would spend on a iron. You could buy a nice complete station for that price. Hell maybe even a Vacuum solder extractor included.
@BrickworksDK4 жыл бұрын
It's very expensive for what it is. And looking at the website there's a lot of dead links and chines pages - not exactly something that fills me with confidence. One thing I would have liked you to test was working with SMD components. The tip seemed rather large for precision work.

I can't find at least one feature that can justify the price. For me more or less decent chinease soldering station for the same or even lower price is definetly better option because it comes with Air Gun as well -- and with modern components I use air gun more often than soldering iron to solder or remove components to/from PCB. Also, all soldering stations de-facto come with proper holders for both soldering iron and gun -- no need to invent new wheel. Also, soldering stations quite often use HAKKO style of tips/heaters that are well tested and known and available everywhere for few dollars( quite often station already comes with 3 most popular types of tips which will last long enough). Asking 15 dollars for proprietary designed single tip with a jack at the end-- it's a robbery. Even 50 dollars for this bare iron is something I can't justify.

Please I have been working on a project . Using arduino to control fan and light. In this work I'm using a temperature sensor, pir and an LDR. And this is how it works. When the pir detects motion and the room is dark or hot both the light and fan turns on but when motion is not detected and the room is hot or dark the fan and the light won't turn on. Unless motion is been detected both pir and temperature sensor will be off. I will be happy if you can help me with the code and maybe the diagram. I need to submit it as my final project at school. Thank you very much

What is the most representative difference between the ts80 and the ts100? the ts100 is cheaper and has more tip models. Which of the two do you recommend?
@ELECTRONOOBS4 жыл бұрын
Ts80 has metal case, shorter distance from finger to the tip of the iron, it has 3.5mm jack for the tip and also heat dissipator on the iron tip and improved PCB circuit. I recommend both the same amount, depends on the money you have...

define "too much"? If you have the budget, get the Pace ADS200. Awesome station and really affordable for a production-quality station. The tips are affordable as well. If you want cheap but still usable: Get one of those black oled STM32 stations that take (fake) Hakko T12/T15 tips. The quicko/quecoo one seems to be the most decent, you can get it for around 50 bucks with a few tips. But check if the metal case is properly grounded and mod it if it's not.
