I think most of these ideas are beneficial, except for the power-to-build stage system. As a longtime LT2 player for 7+ years, I've realized that the power to build is essential. However, I believe the game pass should be removed, and players who already own it should receive limited items for each slot. Your stage progression system is a good idea, but I think the prices should be higher, and there should be an option for a 1-unit build option. For example, a 25% decrease in wood use could cost 95k, a 50% decrease 315k, and a 75% decrease 745k. However, I believe there should be challenging tasks for players to attempt after reaching these stages, similar to the green box challenge. To earn the 1-unit building option, players would have to complete these difficult challenges, making it a prestigious achievement for skilled players.

I totally agree, despite the lack of progress with players and the game's economy, there's is a massive issue within lumber tycoon 2. within issues of exploiters/hackers but, the issue believe every single lumber player had to go through making there bases is "beggars", beggars within lumber tycoon 2 is pretty frustrating. people would come up to your base and start begging for axes, money, etc. Its so much anger with these kind of people that really want to boost there progress of becoming like this big player that soon will ran into these people are just mad hard getting through your trading, buying, even building. look if I am so wrong just tell me. this is one of my biggest issues I ever have as a lumber player within the community and just because I have like 18.4milion in-game currency (didn't really earn this lol) doesn't mean you just come up to me and say things you really need. pro tip: if your ever try to do this kind of stuff, just take a minute and try your darn best to cut those trees down and sell. there no kind of need to actually look for people to give you things. go what I went though, I started off probably the same people do on lt2.

The beauty of LT2 lies within the fact that its not a woodcutting game but a business game. Limited items every holdiay are for a reason and that being the very diverse teading community. Through Trading, progression can be very fast based on your skills. Only downside atm is dupers. We need a fix for that.

i am pretty sure defaultio just thought of these old tycoon games while making the progression of this game. If you want to have fun with the game there is litteraly 2 types of "fun" stuff to do, art (building, wires, electronic stuff etc.) and trading (the one i play this game for) and even to get into both of these you either need some duped items or grind it yourself, for art, lest say you want to build a neat house, lets think about the price; you will either grind a #### ton of wood or plank you want for your house, this will either take your at least 3-5 hours depending on what wood you use, your equipment, your pacing etc. etc. (presuming that this house is something inbetween a small-medium house) OR you can spend 10 million for golden bp, if you are into trading or have a reliable source, some wood for 500k up to 1.5m based on how much wood you use, and your time to plan and build it. If you are lazy like me it could take days. This game is just not fun until a point where you can easily afford stuff you want to make or have the time to do so I mean you might be into grinding then idrk, good for you lol

All welcome and needed changes, was originally grinding for powers back in 2021 but eventually burned out, grinding lava/ice got boring really quick. The reward might've been worth it but after hitting 1m I just stopped. I like grinding but 10m without trading ain't easy to get. The money yielded while grinding lava wood literally got cut in half after wall-climbing got patched too.

I got a trick that i did with a friend a few days ago. You both pick up a birch tree trunk, stand on top of your partner's trunk while he stands on yours, and then if you each pick up the logs, you will be able to slowly float upwards towards the volcano.

on the bluepring filling there should be a stage 4 which cost 1.5M to get and you will get a 100% reduction and the blueprint gamepass will get you to the stage 3 and make a discount so the stage 4 will cost 750k instead of 1.5M

I’m against this idea as a full reduction removes creativity when building intuitive sawmill systems but if this were to happen I’d recommend just readjusting the three stages to be 33% 66% and 99% and buffing all the prices.

Think about this I have found 11 spookyneons in over 700 spooky trees found total in about 3 years, and it's the rarest tree in the game by far, and I am really lucky with spookyneons too. It should be more rewarding to hunt for spook trees because there is quite litteraly no point to right now because of the economy, it's available for 1 month of the year, rare as crap, and doesn't even sell for the same amount as frost wood, but otherwise I like it lol sorry for making u read allat

i think the solution would be Lumber Tycoon 3, with all your suggestions taken into consideration of course. a better progression system to me would be making it possible for you to grind (almost) every item in the game without needing to be in events only available once a year or so. like making the Fire Axe optainable by doing a similar quest to the Shark Axe, instead doing a different set of objectives at the cave located under the volcano, and more secrets around the map, giving people more reason to explore it and perhaps a better building system because the current one is honestly tedious to do properly. and finally i would love to see more textures and utilities to be able to do much more in the game, for example; diving gear that finally allows you to swim underwater and maybe collect a new type of aquatic wood. btw all of these are just suggestions and not given much thought, only meant to give you ideas of your own

main thing i dont like about filling out blueprints is when you buiild blueprints mid air. you have to first balance the tiny piece of wood so it will stay in place, then get another piece of wood. but players will just make their cutters work with 3 units of wood, so it wont really change the way we automate cutting wood. but stages is a REALLY good idea.

@@malaki4519 I mean, it would solve a big inflation issue that has been part of lt2 for too long now. If there exists less money, your million will have more worth. Resold item prices will also have go down to match the new worth the money simply because theres not as much as theres been before. I understand what you mean, but I have a total of around 60 million in cash on all my saves which is so much that I have no idea how I could ever spend it again - buying items from player is also no option because I simply have too much any own at least 10 of every gift, axe and so much more. Less money in game = prices of resold items will sink. It is unfortunately the last resort for lt2 or the economy will never become good again. Even after a money adjustment there are still player with hundreds of duped items. Its a small start to fix something big, but in my eyes it has to be done. Sorry for all spelling errors and gramatical mistakes I made.

@@e9cw196 As someone who has exploited. I know a bit about what’s happening. One they can’t EVER stop exploiters from getting money. A reset would one ruin the economy, two put legit players in a worse position. Exploiters will instantly skyrocket in money. Auto grab cavecrawler. Sawmill and then boom auto sell and you’re rich. All you need to do that infinitely is a private server. Then there’s the issue of end wood. It would be POINTLESS to be in the game. No eyes you see today are legit. Plus there’s so many unreleased hacks it’s insane. Until they can eliminate exploits for good (not possible for at least another year maybe 2) then there’s nothing they can do. They keep patching things for new methods to be worked out. To the point where hacks just abuse the game features and code. The idea of adding more and revising SOME not everything he put out is a great idea. Also once you’re lategame you stay lategame. That’s the point. Economy drives lumber. Trading (mainly driven with duped items) is what keeps this game alive

tbh i see lumber tycoon 2 as a 50% progression game and 50% building game. I always saw spook wood and sinister wood to be more of a building wood rather than something to grind and sell. Theres a reason why wood is made out of different materials. Like sinsier and cavecrawler being the only neon wood, spooky the only granite wood, and phantom the only wood made out of foil material.

Defaultio needs to add more stuff. New axes, new stuff for bases, new trees... This is to ensure that players will have something to play with. You can even add a prestige system, where players just need to sacrafice some wood, money and base, and get a authetic base upgrade, along with some multiplier. You may even add perks for prestige points, that help you progress. This will add some replayability to the game, as now you have to build up things from scratch for getting good benefits. This will 100% make players a little more engaged in the game.

Lone cave is an economy exclusive wood and thus it shouldn’t be the most profitable in the game. Even in a fixed economy lone cave is not meant for being sold as the total tree cost is less than the cost of the eye. It’s a really nice wood for building and my goal is to deincentivize selling it as it’s practically a free money source with a supply of duped eyes. As for the powers, yes it’s an end game item and this remains the same, only now instead of 200+ hours of grinding the player can be introduced to the powers shortly after obtaining the ruki. If you have any rebuttal to these reasons I would love to hear them as these changes could not be the best for other parts of the community.

Well here’s the thing. I like all the ideas of the trees, axes, etc. However, one thing I didn’t like was the powers. 1st you need 10,009,000 and that takes a long time to get. 2nd it is very hard to get as if you don’t know the path your pretty much screwed. 3rd it goes with some of the mysterious lore in lt2 because with the mysterious things in lt2 the game would be kind of boring.

Everything is good apart from changing power to build for players who already own it via in game money or robux, if they ever do something like that they should give everyone who got it with in game money a full refund minus the 124,000 stage 3 costs and they will have it without needing to do the puzzle all over again. I love the ideas showed in this video, but I think you went waaay down with the prices for the powers. I think better prices would be 80k, 200k and 500k. it may sound like a lot but with the other changes people could get to that amount of money, as extrapolating the 200 hours you mentioned to this new amount would be only 16 hours of pure grinding, which is not that much actually, many players spend at least 30 minutes per session which would mean that joining every day for a month they would have enough

Not really related to the video but the biggest issue with Oaklands is that it doesn’t have the longevity lt2 has. They require constant updates to keep the game alive and it dips substantially without them. This is true for basically every lt2 inspired game; none of them have reached the balance of content and design that lt2 has.

also the non-renewable exclusive items (not counting duping or exploits) should be made obtainable -- ESPECIALLY the Flamingo Eye, as it gives access to an entire new wood also palm wood should be obtainable w/o freezeglitching

The whole cheap/rare wood need to be rebalance and more easier to achieve if imma be honest. The physics engine isn't the best with this game and so you can end up glitching and bugging out with wood in your vehicle which makes the game really tedious and repetitive. To think this game is supposed to be fun and relaxing, clearly I was wrong.

Chilltrill have babft that is pretty much one of the best games on Roblox because you can do anything there (still waiting for logic gates) and Soyben left from what i know after he uncopylocked booga booga as he couldn't work on it anymore, soo yea, Defaultio have to make game himself and also use more modern strategies (famous LT2 drag is now function of Roblox, probably thanks to him)

So just make the entire game easier. With trading and reselling… (something meant to be in the game) all of this progression would be able to be completed in not even a month. I made 1.2 mil off trading today just have to reach outside of just Roblox. Most serious players make this progression in no time. You’re limiting the game so much. People work for money. Grind for the hard wood and sell it for huge profit. Trade, collect, build amazing things. All you’re doing is making the entire base of the game way easier. That personally removes the fun. Yes the power is HARD to get. Then provides a HUGE advantage… THATS THE POINT. You aren’t meant to hit this game full vanilla. Lumber is a huge community not just another vanilla game

Having a game rely on a completely broken economy caused by the developer’s neglect is not something any game should do. Earning 10,000,000 or any amount of money can be done in a few hours of begging, there’s no challenge when you involve the economy, meaning there’s no challenge now. So why should players be forced to enter it?

@@ElectroTechnologies if you can beg for that sure. I did it with trading. I constantly have a new project despite having the golden blue print on every slot. I agree with some revisions but what you’re offering is making the entire game easier. Instead add more in the middle and keep a constant goal throughout. You’re right the golden blue print is really hard but that’s the endgame. All you’re offering is making the game easier. Lumber is an economy driven game just like real life. That’s sorta the point. Items were put in for a reason past decoration. Yes the beginning could be made a bit more structured. But the end is the end for a reason. The price of the golden blue print shouldn’t be dropped. Land price shouldn’t be dropped. The price of the best vehicle in the game shouldn’t be dropped (UNLESS a new vehicle is added) sawmills do need a rework but not a price hit. Players are forced to be in the economy because that’s how the world works. With grinding yeah not going to be easy but there’s a big economy for a reason. Idk who you beg because despite having 12mil on my current slot the most you’ll get is a decent axe to start the game with. I don’t give things out

i strongly dislike the "new" version of the powers because, how it is right now allows players to build cool and massive bases. at the cost of 10 mil it should be lowered to something like 5 or maybe even 2.5 mil but everything else about the powers is perfect.

All good but i think wood should cost more like frost wood 32 - 46 somewhere like that cavecrawler 96 - 142, less that current frost gonna be too cheap, going across the ocean and then trough the maze is too many also you said nothing about golden wood, u think its good?

​@@ElectroTechnologies if that so, dont you think frost wood with price of 32 is weird compared to golden with price of 36 to get frost player need to buy explosive from safari whih already cost 540-640, and then go troung twisty way to get golden player just need to get to safari once, and then by nearby trees go up to the cliff and walk to the swamp also, frost wood can be carried by car, means there could be lot of them at once, when regular way to get golden wood cant be reached with car(way from volcano is much harder and time consuming to get, so doesnt counts) and third this is golden wood is wider, means more units of wood in one tree, if frost wood would be 32 new unit, to reach same price of one golden tree would be needed atleast 2 frost ones. There is another problem about that, swamp contain really lot of wood, not like snowy hill with frost wood, so it can just run out yeah my english is bad ik

Roblox might be a good engine for early developers for creating games but the anticheat is so bad that its completly unreliable if your game goes popular. I always fantasized about a LT2 in unity or in ue5, everything in an integrated server and optimized to be a great experience without this stupid economy.

What I’d love to see is a complete wipe of the current lt2 that comes with a code rewrite and a substantial amount of new content. Those who want to still play the old lt2 can access it through somewhere in the menu but the rest of the players would be in the new setting.
