Just a tip for when you draw curves like circles or rounded boxes... You're using the shape tool which is fine but it's of course aliasing the curves... Instead of going back in and tracing the curve to get a pixel line, you can just use the Fill tool at 0 Tolerance with anti-aliasing checked off and click on the shape you made. This will fill the shape with solid pixels instead of semi-opaque ones around the curves... then you can just select the shape with the Magic Wand, then go to Select > Modify > Contract and set to 1 Pixel and then Just Ctrl+X to cut out the inside and leave you with a very clean 1 pixel curve.
@PixelArchitect2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the tip! Yeah I think I don't have the right settings when using the fill tool. Your way probably saves some time. I will try it out :)
@VizioenBeOfficial2 жыл бұрын
@@PixelArchitect An even easier way is to use the path option of the shape tools (or the pen tool to draw a path). Then in the path panel, right click the path and use stroke path. Then use the pencil option to make the stroke. It will use the current settings of the pencil tool.

Every country has its ‘speciality’ regarding food, it could be fun if you made some dish up that’s tradition in your ingame city, npcs could be excited to visit the hotel and be like ‘yo can’t wait to try …., my friend said was so good’ or shit like that, you could dedicate an NPC to get the ingredients and have a mini game for you to obtain those ingredients!! love your work keep posting vids like this!!

The circular rug is drawn in perspective, but the rectangular rug isn't. Hope that's helpful. It looks like they're on different planes. Edit: I think all it is is the checkered pattern on the rug needs to be condensed vertically. If the checkered pattern was on the bottom of that luggage carrier, it seems like it would be condensed and drawn in perspective. Hope that's helpful Awesome devlog here, though, I really enjoy seeing how you create everything. Would love to see how you create the rules and gameplay as well!

@vanessarider57082 жыл бұрын
I love all of your architecture work, but the thing that jumps out most to me in this one is the colors. It reminds me of a box of crayons with a few too many bright primaries/ secondaries. The purple accents and bright blue shadows stand out the most. If you changed the shadows to more of a teal, and the purple to a deeper brick red I think it would look a lot more polished. Just a suggestion though! Feel free to ignore :)

Amazing work!! Out of curiosity - any paticular reason for why you're drawing-in a colored outline before filling it with the bucket tool, instead of using the bucket tool from the get-go? (like in 02:04 ~ 02:07 } Also, have you ever considered trying out Aseprite instead of Photoshop? I used to be stuck in the trap of not moving over because Photoshop was already familiar, but after a pretty miniscule learning curve Aseprite becamse a software I literally love working in, am wondering if you ever gave it a go
@PixelArchitect2 жыл бұрын
Tbh Photoshop is still a bit limited when it comes to pixel art, but I mainly use it since it has good non-pixel art tools. The reason for the outline is because if I use the paint bucket right away, it often causes blurry, multicolor edges - a Photoshop limitation. I know Aesprite dosen't have to worry about this. Might give it a try and use it for certain drawings
@thalesbentancour71862 жыл бұрын
probably cause he likes to maintain the linework and the colors in a different layer , he could just use the wand select tool and then bucket instead, in my opinion. Great videos and great job, btw

@@PixelArchitect Oh absolutely. From what little I've done and seen, Pixel art architecture feels more like growing a plant rather than laying out a level lol. It's actually surprisingly methodical once you get the style nailed and sizes nailed down. I do have a bit of a problem though, the thing I'm finding most difficult right is just figuring out the 3/4ths perspective for things because somehow I end up over-correcting one way or the other and all of a sudden I'm either in sidescroller mode or complete top down view. Have you got any tips for perspective? In your scene everything looks awesome, it just fits and nothing looks awkward or out of place.
