We've had this bar under wraps for a while now. Decided to open it up and do this video. This will be the first part of the IPF Powerlifting Competition bar. The second come much later.

I've owned this Bar (the raw un-coated IPF ...) for about 6 months now. It is not only the best bar that I have ever used or owned but I have zero corrosion issues with it (no rust at all) - it is my primary bar and I use it regularly. For anyone interested in this bar and in keeping it in good shape, I do the below: 1) The bar is stored indoors in a climate controlled environment - no excessive heat or humidity. 2) I brush it after every training session (without exception). 3) I treat it with 3 In 1 Oil every few weeks. There are 3 things that differentiate Eleiko's raw steel IPF certified power barbell from their slighly less expesinve chrome training power bar: 1) Raw steel vs. Chrome plated - the raw bar has a better feel, really needs to be stored indoors, and requires some maintenance. The maintenance consists of brushing off (chalk) at the end of the day (or each session) and applying 3 in 1 oil (weekly or so - I usually do it every few weeks). Given that I was going to store the barbell indoors regardless of version I purchased and how easy and quick the required maintenance is, I opted for the superior feeling of the raw steel version. I've owned the IPF version for months. Since I have taken care of the bar, it has absolutely no rust on it. 2) The knurling. Although the two are on paper identical (outside of the effect of the chrome coating) they are in reality slightly different. In short, the cutting tool used to produce the knurling has to be replaced frequently and can only be used two or three times to obtain the optional intended result. What Eleiko does is use a new part two or three times for the IPF version and the remaining number of times - where the knurling will not be exactly as aggressive as intended - for the non-IPF version. Given the small difference in price between the two versions, it made sense to me to get the version with the optimal / intended knurling. 3) Calibration. This I think only really matters in competition and for someone wanting an exact measurement of their PRs. For me this was not a reason for purchasing the IPF version.

I have the Rack bar, and the only exercise I have had in my program, that I have not been able to do is Snatch Grip deadlifts. Even with straps that is not going to happen. However, I am a huge fan of being able to rotate/drag the bar in place on the J-cups even when loaded with discs. And the lower price.

Thanks for the feedback. We never thought of snatch deadlift. That would have been a better example than bench. Silly us!
