Garage gym reviews never fails to make me want to spend money to add to my garage gym arsenal!
@bobbyrogulski9340 Жыл бұрын
I want to see companies start selling specialty bars with a long and short sleeve length option. If you have bumpers then a long option makes sense. But as someone who owns steel plates and a small footprint home gym I would kill for shorter sleeves.
@seaneppel7465 Жыл бұрын
Seems like a really nice bar, but really hard to argue it's worth twice the Rep open trap bar. I think most people would be better served getting something like the Rep bar or the Giant Trap bar GGR recently reviewed, then spending the other $450+ on other equipment. Full disclosure I own the Rep Open trap bar and love it, and think open trap bars in general are great.
@tonya7699 Жыл бұрын
Yeah a lot of the features on the Rep just make it one of the best offerings regardless of price.
@KryptoDemon Жыл бұрын
I literally just purchased the REP open trap bar. I went to Eleiko first and noticed they reduced the price by $200, signifying a new product. I almost jumped on it but then saw this bar for $859. Just felt too much with respect to the competition. I looked at all of them and the REP bar just made the most sense. Kabuki showed 14 weeks to ship so....Just got it and it is a great bar. Excellent reviews as always.

i also got the rep open trap bar after visiting the eleiko (also kabuki) and felt that the rep trap bar won me over by the price and replaceable handles ( 25 inch width one )

I don't see the problem with the Tb2 from Rogue. For squats the SSB is a better option. For pressing a multigrip bar is better.

The regular oppen deadlift bar is on sale cuz it’s getting discontinued. $599 plus $50 for shipping. But a rogue version would be cool with bushing sleeves.

I really like this bar. I used it today. I’m fortunate my gym has a variety of trap bars, and this is generally my go to when I have trap bar DL in my programming. However, for me, when I am getting over 350lbs for reps I don’t like this bar for 2 reasons: 1) it tends to slip in my hands due to the 28mm grip and 2) as I tire out I feel the rotational forces trying to pull the bar out of my hands more than when I use the traditional hex bar we have at my gym. If I’m doing sets with less than 5 reps, I grab the rogue bar.

IDK if they can take over what rep's offering in terms of functionality but definitely won't be beat them on price... Without watching yet I anticipate it's too little too late but hopefully they innovate something new and prove me wrong.

I'd like to see some arsenal strength equipment reviewed. A specific piece of equipment from Bolt Fitness that I'm interested in is the Guardian leg extension/leg curl machine. It looks solid, compact, and seems pretty close to gym quality. An in-depth review on that would be nice. Is it really compact, does it maintain tension, is it suitable for people over 6', or under 6'.

@21:50 well, actually...you continue to overlook the Vulcan Ox Bar. Literally the same design as Giant and this new Eleiko, at almost half the price. But comes with tradeoffs of sub-par fit/finish, and (allegedly) abysmal customer service. Still, at $399-$499 (depending on if you catch a sale), I think it's a worthy alternative in terms of functionality. Had mine since 2020, zero issues thus far.

Great review- the only reason i have never bought the Oppen bar was the price. I still use a $100 trap bar from amazon. I have 4 Eleiko wt lifting bars and have never bought them brand new- and they will never break down- so yes you are right about their warranty- so dumb- stand behind their product! I would probably upgrade to the rep trap bar if i decide to but only due to the price- I love the Eleiko brand but they would have killed it if they kept this around $500
Is the REP's version better at the cambered squat/press with the bar (not handles)?

I don't get it. It has less features than the Rep one, is more expensive, has fixed handles and not stainless steel... and sleeves that look like they hold maybe 315lbs in bumpers. All for $900+ ? Looks narrow for any squats too... you can see your thighs hitting at @17:07 ... so what is there?
@espcustom24 күн бұрын
I know that the Rep one has more flex under heavier loads, it's also less balanced, overall quality of materials and knurling...eleiko is typically better quality overall and commands higher prices, hence why some don't see the benefit of paying those prices to upgrade from the Rep or other brands to Eleiko..

Eleiko pricing makes no sense. 28mm Olympic Weightlifting competition coated bearing bar, is the same price as a 29mm bare steel, bushing, powerlifting competition bar. The stainless steel version of the same 29mm bar is almost 10% less than the bare steel. It's not unreasonable to question their pricing structure.

Eleiko is way overpriced for what it is. All trap bars are "balanced" when they are loaded. I think it's a big mistake to reduce the sleeves. I like to put a couple of bumpers first, then smaller caliber plates. If you are strong, or planning to get stronger, you need space. And about the dual handles I don't understand why they don't make a higher handle a couple inches isn't enough.

@Chedda3000music Жыл бұрын
The quality and build is better. When you feel it in hand, you can tell the difference. The only question is if it’s worth double the price of the Rep open trap bar. IMO, it’s not, and that’s why I own the Rep version. But if I wanted the best of the best and money is no object, I’d go Eleiko.
