The impulse machine is actually super useful because what it allows you to do is ping the filter, crank up the resonance and if you're using that on every track you can get polyphonic, tune each by adjusting the frequency, subtly bring in some audio rate lfo's on the freq too for a bit of fm, it's honestly one of my fave sounds the Rytm produces and even more satisfying cos you're completely making it from scratch.

100% I couldn’t thing of a quick way to get noise from it though. Even though I guess some audio rate modulation could have done it. I often feel like a pinged (punged?) filter on the A4 or Rytm sounds better than the actual voices

dope vid! the noise machine + resonant band pass filter + overdrive is an underrated secret weapon on the RYTM. If you dial in everything just right, sometimes the noise comes through as a sandy texture on the subby release of a kick.
