Yea for real! I love all the new features but without sample slicing it's no good for me either. I need proper slice control for break chopping & resamped audio as part of my workflow. Yes you can use digi chains but it's a bit of a faff for a £900 sampler.

I’ve had the original Digitakt for about 5 years now, and it’s been my absolute favorite piece of gear since. I don’t think I need this upgrade, and I’m still perfectly happy with mine, but I must say that Elektron shows, once more, why it’s one of the best music companies out there. Delivering quality, listening to their customers, showing how much they care about what they make. There are few companies that are genuinely changing the music gear industry (Chase Bliss, Hologram Electronics and Soma, to name a few) and you guys truly stand out as one of them. I’ll watch all the demos just for the sake of it 🫶🏼

Mk1 DT is a beast, i run midi trks to my old akai s3000xl for stereo samples and vibes the two pair nice and more 1/4 outs.

Yeah a feature I really missed when I switched from model samples to Takt ..... two years of work on the samples just sitting there. Its such a pain to handtranslate the pattern to the takt...

The features are really gamechanging. For me it’s the stereo, Kits, the 8 extra channels and new cntrl all feature that make it a live monster.

If my home studio somehow magically disappeared, the Digitakt would be the first piece I'd get back (even before a laptop). I love it deeply, best gear I've ever had. And even though I have gearlust for the DT2, I feel that the DT1 is still immensely relevant these days, with the late updates (samples modes, song mode, keyboard, etc...).

elektron do good videos. i remember one of the videos for the original digitakt that cenk did being really stand out compared to most videos from other companies. he didnt waffle on, he actually showed how to use it and made it sound good at the same time. kind of crazy how rare that is. something i love about this is how natural her voice sounds. nothing too over the top or overly enthusiastic and the sounds make want to go buy this thing right away!

@elektron what you need to make next is a digi sized box with digitone’s poly sequencer and arpeggiator, 12-16 tracks, sampling, or at least sample playback machine, fm, analog, Syntakt machines, 3 lfos per track, and the FX block. You’re on the verge of greatness.

What a fantastic upgrade. It has most of what users asked for and even more. It is a pity that the zoom function outside the sampling screen isn't available (yet) and zero crossing on samples has been omitted. These are functions that I found very useful on the Octatrack and really missed on the Digitakt, but who knows, maybe this will be added in a future update 😊

Got a few ELEKTRON products. Just upgraded the firmware on the Syntakt and it's awesome. It's a shame that nothing else came out for the original Digitakt. For many of us it's still an outstanding machine and, because of our workflow > we don't need - at least on this point in time - the Digitakt II. Even just the Euclidean sequencer would be a great addition.

This is bangin for sure… probably the most noteworthy MKII update compared to all the other MKIIs you guys have made but I’m not upgrading until real some chopping is adding. I need to be able to select my end points. Right now I have to use other machines for chopping before getting the samples into the DT and that’s annoying as hell. So to upgrade and have to keep that same redundant workflow would be nuts.

@@69mr-moon69 Elektron kind of have a habit of creating immensely powerful instruments, and then discontinuing them despite how relevant they still are. Seems like the Octatrack is the next to fall, unfortunately. Truthfully, the OT is the odd one out in the Elektron line. It's an exclusionary instrument - just like the Monomachine and Machinedrum were - in the sense that they are actually difficult to master instruments with extremely deep learning curves, and even deeper scope. They're probably the three most potential and powerful electronic instruments ever made in my opinion, but like I said they are very exclusionary and don't hold your hand like the new Elektron boxes do. The new Elektron boxes are made for 35 year old Redditors who like Funko Pop dolls and kitty cats (see the video! They know who they're selling to lol). I'm sorry, but it's true. Just look at the Syntakt. They took 1/10th the power of the Machinedrum and Monomachine, gave it the new baby-mode Elektron OS with only TWO outputs, put it in a smaller box and sold it to you for $800, and people sucked it up.
