We can change where we are consuming . If we are using in fiori then using Ui annotation we can change(That I have explained in RAP video series ).If we are using in ALV then via field cataog change we can change( that I have explained in alv ida video of ABAP on HANA series)....

Hi, Currency symbol is displaying in separate column in Analysis for office(AFO) like $(columns A) |200.00( Column B) instead of right before 1st digit when i use @Semantics.currencyCode: true and @Semantics.amount.currencyCode: If i run the view in RSRT, currency symbol is displaying right before 1st digit like $200.00(Column A) . Could you please help how to get $ right before 1st digit and how to turn off currency symbols in AFO

Currently I am using factory method for ALV display and I do my best to have the entire program OO based. Now I am excited to see that we have an OO approach for HANA ALV. Thanks a lot for teaching us how we can use annotations to influence column text. So this resembles the set_short_text, medium_text etc.. methods of factory class. In HANA ALV, 1) How can we hide alv fields 2) Perform aggregations 3) Set visible length for each column. For example, say I want to set a column width as 20 so that user need not resize the column to see the entire value - How can we achieve this 4) Can you please show us how HANA ALV is more efficient as it fetches everything from DB(Sort, filter) as you mentioned in the video Basically I want to make the switch to CDS and HANA ALV for my programs. Ram Bhai - I have 1 more doubt. Whatever reports I get, I am able to write complex select queries and achieve the functionality without a CDS view. From your experience so far, can you please share us a scenario when you used CDS view instead of linking multiple tables using JOIN? I am still not able to understand the compelling reason to create a CDS view. One point we can say is that we can repurpose the code if we create as a CDS view. If we write all the code locally in our program in a local class then we can't repurpose the code. I get this. Its like having a function module that takes employee no as input and returns employee details. I can write this code in my program or create a FM so that others in my project can reuse it. Other than this, what other real world scenarios have you faced when you had to create CDS views?

DDIC based CDS view got obsolete in newer version . Always try to create CDS entity view if your system support.
