Muchisimas Gracias Element Lifestyle! I did this yesterday in AutoZone's parking lot. I especially appreciated your sage advice not to bend the back of the metal tray due to access for the tranny dip stick. I also took a drill, washers and bolts. I did change the spot that I drilled the second hole to hold down the tray, no way my hands would have reached the better spot you chose. I also found it necessary to add washers up on top as the 10mm nuts would definitely have been in danger of slipping through the tabs on top. So thanks for the heads up on that - I was all boy scout and stuff, totally prepared! Feeling the power of the 24 ;)

Thanks for this detailed instructional video! I just finished the upgrade to a Duracell 24F AGM battery ($40 off at Batteries+) and I could tell the difference in starting (much quicker turn over and startup). I haven't had the chance to drive it or have it sit out in the cold winter nights, but I'm confident it will be fantastic! The only thing different I did was use self taping screws to attach the battery tray and used a different hold down bracket (both from local Farm and Fleet store). Thanks again!

Great vid! The 51R is underpowered for an E. Honda did a disservice on that. Heck, the tiny Suzuki SX4 has a 24F! Another great battery is the size 35. Easier to install and no battery tray needed. Bend both OEM tray tabs back a little, drop the battery, new J bolts and holder. Done. Starts with authority.
@Element_lifestyle
@Element_lifestyle 2 жыл бұрын
That is correct. 35 or 24 are good options. I do agree that Honda disservice on that , maybe to save cost?

Does this affect the alternator at all?
@memathews
@memathews 2 жыл бұрын
Good question. Is the alternator able to deliver the proper charge for the new battery and does the battery cause any stress in the alternator?
@Element_lifestyle
@Element_lifestyle 2 жыл бұрын
Yes, it can in other vehicles. Especially newer cars. The alternator can wear down sooner with time. In the Element battery came under-power by factory and doing this upgrade won’t damage anything . I been driving with this bigger battery in my other element for 1 year with 0 problems. Also I asked in groups and many people driving with 24 or 35 size battery for year with not problems. Will be a good idea to add a bigger gauge negative cable. I personally think it should be fine in The Element or older vehicles. Thanks for your question is really good 👍

Hi! The battery you used in this video, will it support a 900 watt coffee maker just long enough to brew the coffee and then it will be turned off? My Element currently has the original size battery. I had 1500 watt inverter hardwired, but it take all the power.

It looks like the battery tray is a bit bigger length-wise than the 24F battery. Do you have any issues with the battery moving/sliding around, or is the battery tiedown enough to hold it fully secure? Thanks.

I added A light bar , ditch lights , an aftermarket amp, electronic deer alert and working to add some more outside lights 😅. I noticed with the OEM battery if you in a very cold place battery struggle to start the Element. My AMG 24F battery costed me around $70 since I have a comercial account. But they can go from $70 up to $200 depending of the brand. I highly recomendable to do this upgrade when you need a new battery and the parts to upgrade it only cost $15
