I was honestly surprised by how emotionally impactful this movie is! All the little details about being an immigrant in this film rly spoke to a LOT of people. My parents are immigrants as well so being able to watch this with them was incredibly touching and refreshing! :)

Right??? This movie came out of nowhere! I’m glad you could watch it with your family! ❤️❤️

Fun fact when Wade and Ember first hold hands. What you see is actually a real thing called the Leidenfrost effect. Basically when a liquid comes in contact with a very hot object, an insulating vapor layer is formed that prevents the whole of the liquid from boiling.

Whoever worked on Elemental needs to fire the advertising team, because you would not BELIEVE how many people have refused to see this masterpiece because of how much they showed Clod in the trailers. He was on screen for less than five minutes. I came out of the the theater sobbing and wondering if I saw a different movie than what it was advertised for.

Fun fact: Ember and Wade being able to touch is based in real-life science. It's called the Leidenfrost effect which is when water like Wade touches a hot surface like Ember, it creates a layer of steam like the one you see when they first touch which acts as a barrier between them, preventing either of them from killing each other.

Disney absolutely did this movie dirty in terms of advertising! I was not expecting such a cute, charming interracial love story that also tackled a girl struggling to reconcile her desire to follow her own dreams with her perceived duty to carry on the legacy her immigrant father built. I don't really have personal reference for either situation, but the story was far more touching and impactful than I ever would have guessed judging from the advertising alone. Even if it was never destined to be one of Disney-Pixar's greatest, I really think a little more effort to convey what the movie was actually about would have piqued more interest and done it a lot of good.

Also, my personal favorite part of this movie Was when Ember said “And speaking of ready we are more than ready for you to actually buy something if you ever get up off your lazy ash.” It’s funny how instead of saying the word as they replace it with ash, which in my opinion, I thought it was absolutely hilarious and clever.

I think this might be my favorite Pixar movie. My grandparents were immigrants, and this basically felt like their story, and the story of my parents raised by immigrants. I wasn't expecting this movie to be so amazing, but I really loved it.

I was SO MAD after watching this, because it’s so GOOD, and there was no indication that it was supposed to be good at all. Disney really messed up the marketing here. This movie is amazing

The first several times, I have watched this movie, I loved every single moment of it. All the way to all the fire jokes, the LITERAL waterworks - pun intended - And the beautiful romance between Ember and Wade.

Yeah Disney's marketing team really dropped the ball with this one. This movie has so much heart but you wouldn't have known in by the trailers. I admit, i thought it was going to be stupid and didn't want to see it. Well, one heartbreak and two betrayals later I wanted to watch something stupidly romantic while crying out my feelings, and this movie delivered above and beyond.

I watched this movie 3 days in a row when it first came to streaming, it's so good!!! I love Wade and Ember so much. The marketing still doesn't do it justice. If they had marketed it as a rom-com more people would have seen it

Greetings! 48 yo male metalhead here. I wanted to let you know that your videos are delightful. I discovered She-Ra a few months ago and it opened my heart and changed my life, so I went down the KZbin rabbit hole and found your stuff. It was wonderful watching She-Ra again through your eyes. I've checked out other things per your suggestions. The Owl House was exceptional. Like She-Ra it seemed to be for little kids at first, and quickly became about adult-level love and trauma. I consider myself an adult like Eda :) Keep up the great work. I enjoy listening to you make that "MMM-M-M-M-M!!” sound that means something just hits your heart. You'll never review it, but if you ever have a chance to watch Helluva Boss I think you'd enjoy it. Also, someday, check out Robotech/Macross. I grew up on it, and I think you'll understand why She-Ra and The Owl House spoke to me. Love is ALWAYS the answer (also, believing in yourself and the power of friendship are pretty cool, too). Thanks again for what you do. You earned another subscriber.
