Sir I have a doubt. I think that The size of the sieve is based on the length of the diagonal of the square opening. Because a particle falling diagonally can easily pass through the sieve even if the particle size is larger than the side length of the square ( but definitely less than the diagonal length).

# 3:24 it should rather be the opposite. The sieve with the smaller opening should be kept at the top, in that order. The smaller the sieve number, the bigger the sieve opening and vice versa

Sir ,what's the purpose of calculating cumulative percentage and percentage finer
@yonathanadam95825 жыл бұрын
To define the effectiveness of particular screen, since it could as well have retained all the fractions on the sieves above.
@erins.54205 жыл бұрын
Weight/mass.....clean vs minus.....clean (roughly same size) and minus (size sieved and smaller)....the smaller bits can still cover or stick to larger aggregate. The finer particles (dust to sand) will change the % of the cumulative number after wet sieve process. Did I get that about right? I’m learning, I’m not a student and know much less than the gentleman asking the question. I’m just checking to see if I am understanding properly, or at least on the right path.
