She's just *so* good tho. I reckon she's recorded ~30 different vocal tracks to build most of the melody & harmonies she wanted thru this track. Her choice of the mildly-distorting 808 bass drone is ominousAF under the harmonic minor "middle-eastern" feel she's gone with. She doesn't allow any chance of the lead vocal line becoming boring, with great use of quietLOUD dynamics as y'all said, & she *drips* attitude delivering it.... what's not to love?! Putting the vocal & songwriting chops to one side, she clearly could make bank as producer for other artists if she felt so inclined. Just *so* good!! :) p.s. treat yourselves to listening to this thru some quality HiFi sometime to really appreciate it, or at least a pair of decent headphones! ;)

Chinchilla seems self-taught from many sources. I think that tone change you're talking about resembles something like Queen did on Bohemian Rhapsody. Her originality and visuals put me in the mind of Missy Elliot. Her delivery pulls a little Lady Gaga. The overall sound is similar to Rihanna's in this one and maybe Little Girl Gone.
