In this lesson we take a closer look at the timing between right and left hands during the alternate-string pull off. We also examine left hand position in preparation for some upcoming techniques.
Special thanks to Banjo Hangout member "caintuck" for mentioning the very important issue of coordination between left and right hands when using the alternate string pull-off technique. I neglected to mention his post in the video.

I'm glad you're getting something out of these videos. Thanks for the comment. I'll tackle D tuning (double C capoed up two frets) in a future video. There really are very few tunings employed in Round Peak style clawhammer.

You're a wonderful teacher, Tom. Don't worry about my last question. I should have looked at the second lesson first. It's now clear that I can pull off on any string and, I assume, the pull-off always follows striking any other but the one I pull off. Thanks again, George

The techniques in these videos can be used by anyone for any style of clawhammer. Some of the techniques are more "Round Peak-y" than others. By deliberate, I mean you want never want your tricks and licks to become constant features of your playing. Put them in to do work in the tune. For example, the alternate string pull-off shouldn't be a constant thing. Use it to fill the occasional gap, or to provide some syncopation with the fiddler.

Good videos Tom. When you say you deliberately use these round peak techniques do you mean you use various general clawhammer techniques like double thumbing and bum ditty and then throw these techniques you are teaching in the get the round peak style? Or is this style one in its own and does not use general clawhammer styles? thanks.
