Lots of great ideas Chuck! I am a beginner, and I am still building my shop. These ideas and the mini tour around your shop help a lot, thank you.

Awesome video! I love the guided tour. Looking to get a house here in the next couple of years, so planning ahead. Side note; Can you do a video series going over a full leather armor set? Your set is gorgeous and I'd love to watch you make one!

As always, this is an excellent info, Sir. I work on a small desk but it's very useful too 👍

If you do a lot of gluing like I do I find it invaluable to have 2 quarts of Barge Cement. One I use for large messy projects. If often need Barge Reducer added to it as the can gets less full due to Oxygen. Some put their glue in smaller jars to keep this from happening. Using glue all the time in production, there is no time for this. The 2nd can of Barge Cement is for those fine jobs that need very clean applications like wallet liners, etc. This can is seldom opened like the "production can" is and it's always the perfect consistency with a clean brush.

nice idea, in particular the punching table segment. I like its construction, but I was wandering one thing. Where does all the punching shock waves go? I am asking this because no matter, how I do my punching set ups, I always having a problem with noise and vibrations all the way down to the flat underneath my workshop...

Not sure if you see these, but have or will you do a video on that giant leather mat

I prefer to punch, tool, stamp, etc at chest high. Two back surgeries define the way I do things now. I'm thinking of trying TY figure a way to make a system with adjustable heights that can handle the stresses of tooling and punching

Hello Chuck, I finished my cutting table. I cut some belt strips on it. Wow!! How did I get along without it before? Have a good one.

OLD LEATHER SMITH here, Hi Chuck, great ideas 4 the beginner, Suggestions, I put casters on all my benches but 1, which is designed 4 wheel chairs, since I teach the craft I laid out my shop 4 those people, also garage doors on either end 2 make it easy 2 pull a vehicle in and drive out, 2 add space 2 my benches I installed U brackets under my benches 6 inched apart front 2 back, since all my benches R out of 2x12 I installed 2x4 scewed 2 the bottom of the 2x12 in what length I require, the 2x4 slips into into the U brackets under the bench, I also installed plastic gutter's 2 the front of my benches this holds all my mallets and other tools I am using at the time, sorry 4 so looooong, GOD'S BLESSINGS ✝️⚾🙃

How big is the overhang? 2” recess? More?
@WeaverLeatherSupply6 ай бұрын
From Chuck: I used 1 x 4’s which are actually ¾” thick so the overhang is ¾”. A 2 x 4 may be a better choice and that would give it a 1½” overhang which would be a little more helpful.

After my first leather project I realized I needed a lot more space, just finished my tooling desk, though it still needs a few small details but I’m happy with it.
