Everyone always talks about Fire, but seriously, Water is absolutely amazing! It certainly has so much power and it is similar to Earth in someways which is also why Earth is so ethereal and beautiful. My elements according to astrology are 90% earth and water so I have a soft spot for both songs. Katerina, I really appreciate these beautiful works!

I remember when we preformed water I loved how every part sorta "flowed" together. When I found out it was a movement in a bigger piece I had to look it up. I found this video, and every now and then, I come back and listen to this composition for inspiration, general relaxation, and just because this is a nice comfort piece, It's so gorgeous and really gives you a sense of each element and the abstract emotions they express. What's most impressive is it does this without using real words to explain itself. Truly an enchanting work of art.

This is my first time hearing the piece entirely but I’m so glad I came to listen to it. I honestly wish I could hear it in person, but what I’ve gathered from it is what I assume you meant it to be in the first place. To me, the earth sounds calm but still moving and ever changing, shifting like tectonic plates; the wind starts as a soft breeze and then builds and grows into a howling storm; the fire starts as something contained yet angry that then builds and erupts into a blaze that eventually subsides; the water starts like an ice cap, melting and the water winds through rivers and streams as it travels to the ocean. Overall, it’s just a gorgeous and phenomenal piece.

This kinda Ngl gives me some alien vibes I might use this for my novel called Realm War this is explained in 2 paragraphs In the year 2060, Adam, his friends, and family took an early summer vacation on a space cruiser but mysterious light rays or auroras from distant stars cause mare to unleash motherships from a portal on Mars, they disengaged smaller motherships to destroy the most populated cities. Humans rage firepower at the invaders but were helpless due to technology. Adam seeks refuge in Area 52 with officials and General Alexander Oppenheimer only to have a ufo crash on the base making Adam to steal the doomsday plane, but goes to Las Vegas for an emergency landing and meeting a rich man named Joshua. When they reached Japan, Adam reunites with his Japanese friend and Chinese dad but only to remain with him before he dies in his sleep. The navy takes the characters only to find out that Adam’s Chinese family hates him where quad-pods attack the USS ThunderChild. When Joshua, Adam, and Gemma were on a yacht, the new couple get abducted by aliens but they meet a leader named Renenutet who reveals her ambitious plan. She then only leaves Adam with Joshua on a deserted tropical island. A One World Military, newly formed, attacks the aliens once more only to find out that they are fighting over power causing Renenutet to lead a remaining fleet to genocide. Alexander tells Adam on the island that Renenutet kidnapped his girlfriend, and is revealed to be Adams father. and wants to take his own life to kill Renenutet. When Adam and Alexander got abducted, Dwane joins the fight only to be left dying. A solar discharge causes ships to get destroyed. Adam then gets the refugees where Dwane nukes her vessel. Half of Humanity is wiped out but the sun rises bringing peace on the Earth…

My feet, hands and skin are my extended ears. You should try experiencing your work somewhat similar to how I did. It's interesting. Go into a dark room, insert cottonballs firmly in your ears and blast 🔥 on stereo with no shoes on on an uncarpeted floor perhaps a kitchen or bathroom. You might find a whole other magic within it. Hi Hannah! I wrote Fire and the set that it's part of (Elements) back in 2013 while I was in school and still very early in my writing journey. So my goal in writing Elements was more of a compositional one at the time - to convey an image or idea (in this case, each Element) to listeners without using any actual text/words, just using music and exploring the wide range of capabilities of the human voice. For Fire, for example, I was really thinking witches brew ;) You can hear me chat more about my approach to Fire iand the set as a whole in this interview here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/q4SWpKWkbap6ebM

What was the inspiration for this? Is it an original piece? Nature spirits? Ancient teachings? Just came to you? It’s powerful I can tell you this. I’m not sure what your beliefs are and I don’t judge any unless they use their power to do unnecessary and unjust harm but this is very powerfully moving feels natural. Tied to the powers of the soul and to earth. Amazing. Druidic?

Hi! I wrote Elements back in 2013 when I was in school - so my goal was more of a compositional creative one at the time: I wanted to create something that at once explored the bounds of the human voice and could convey an image or idea (in this case each classical element) without using any words - just through the music itself. I had also started studying improvisation around this time and was exploring using my voice in a more "instrumental" way...so that also influenced my writing of this work :) P.s. If you're interested to hear more, I dive into a bit more detail on this in my interview on the "Getting the Song Out" podcast!

@@katgimon thank you for responding. I’m a bit of a vocalist myself I guess I’ll admit I have a range that extends from hard core metal animal screams to almost monk Chant lows If I warm up properly. I love music of most genres as long as there’s talent and effort involved. It is a beautiful piece. I’m a bit of a spiritual scatter brain was raised Christian but I actually sought out all of the removed portions of the Bible and stopped participating in the faith because I felt cheated. Completely different message with the other half included. I’m also deeply interested in elemental magic and some Norse runic practices. I’ve had an interesting go of life for sure. Lots of unique experiences. I can appreciate the earthy very visceral nature of your work it brings up a very natural state of connection to the earth feeling in different ways. I agree words aren’t necessary when you are tuned in to the right frequency. You can just be. Like instinct like a feeling of being part of what we’ve lost or separated ourselves from in order to become slaves to the dollar and plaything’s for greedy evil unnatural men. The thing about works like yours is they for me at least remind me that no matter how far humanity has tried to run from our nature and betray our instinctive behavior and drives we are still bound and connected to the earth and that connection needs to not only be respected but exercised. I was slightly confused that the dedication said it was performed in a church not that it’s bad just that usually churches frown upon anything that pays homage to the more elemental earth bound energies. Interested in a curious way would be more accurate. Anyway I wont write the next great American novel. Again thank you for your effort and sharing your art with the world it definitely improved my day greatly and calmed my usually bombarded and lately irritable mind. I’ll have to check out the podcast I think you said. Thanks again for writing back I don’t experience much common courtesy these days so it’s greatly appreciated.

Hi there. There are no real words/lyrics in Fire. What you're hearing is a set of nonsense syllables I generated through improvisation to evoke the energy and vigour of fire in its many forms. The syllables you hear off that bat (that loop throughout the entirety of the work) are: “N a ma ai na kai la na da”, meant to represent the embers of a flame!
